No I have accepted that we are out of it and I don't think I could take hoping again and being disappointed.

So will just keep accepting that they have won it and see what happens.

Not trying to piss on anybody's parade but them losing at Wigan, whose chairman is all over Taggart like a rash (I do like him though), seems a little, well, cosy.

I'm really enjoying this season though and was surprised to hear some rousing renditions of 'Mancini, whoooaaaaao', considering.

If we can do the business against Norwich (much tougher than tonight) then maybe just maybe, but Mancini has taken the pressure off the players, by saying it's over - how much has the pressure got to them? The swagger was back tonight & interestingly without Yaya. It isn't in our hands & we need Villa to believe they can do it - think Everton might be too distracted by the cup whatever happens this weekend

As in the whole mind games thing are a load of crap. Why does Mancini come out and say its over? Even if he doesn't mean it, it's a pointless thing to say.

He should be inspiring belief in us now!

I think we need to get behind the team more than ever now. It might be a long shot, but city has gone long enough with out winning the championship. We need to fight to get back in and they need all the support they can get

Agreed

Tonight we were up against a lower level premier league team with nothing to play for and have already gone on holiday.

A comfortable win is what I expected on paper. With what happened on Sunday we weren't coming into it in great form but I was hoping for a positive reaction which we got.

United slipping up isnt that much of a freak result to me, they've had a few stinkers this season havent they.

Now we have 2 back to back away games, our achilles heal since xmas.

We need to find a way to win 6 points. I dont care how we get them but if we are truely going to get back in the title race, we need to get these next 6 points.

I mentioned in another thread the Silva, Aguero, Tevez triangle. One thing they all do? Work hard for the team. Whatever the circumstance.

And thats exactly how we can win these 6 points. If our players work hard and apply themselves properly, we can win these 2 games. If we play with the low tempo negative approach we have done away from home fairly regulally, we can wave goodbye to the title for good.

So lets see where we are in 2 games and take stock.

They just need to play football, if they did that and just forgot they were even in fuclin league they would sweep the next 6 games all by two or three goal margins, home or away.

Just thought I may as well chip my two penneths in for what it's worth

I can see both sides of the coin really and it's down to our mixed performances this season. Before christmas I would have banked my life that this season we were destined for great things.

Our performances since then have dampened that optimism somewhat as we have generally been pretty poor. Our wins have been struggles and we have invited teams onto us (Savic and the like don't help)

I've always had belief that we could do it, it's never over until the fat lady sings (especially with the rags still to play and the fact that they have been awful this season)

Last night returned that belief to its fullest and makes the rest of the season pretty tasty. Here's to back to back wins on the roads with a few goals to boot, and fingers crossed the rest falls into place

Until we demonstate the ability to win an Away game, then not a lot has changed from our side of things. Home form never was the problem hence last nights thumping win, but its the away form thats done us in, and 3 of our last 5 games are away.

Well Saturday is obviously an important point along that track K. I suggest the same formation and attitude may indeed assist us to that much needed three points old chap.

One would hope but im certainly not dancing in the street and ordering an open top bus at this point.
We should never have been in this position.
