That didn't stop him from playing golf in the middle of the season waiting to be sold in January.

Took a pal last night who's not been for 5 years. After Tevez's first few touches I told him that he was going to score. That period after half time he was almost back to his best, pulling the strings, demanding the ball and making things happen. Delighted when he scored and will be delighted if he stays. There, I've said it.

He is/was one very badly advised individual. But also one hell of a football player and if Dzeko had half his energy and commitment we would have won the league without him.Sad to say he will be off in the summer i will be honest and say i never wanted him back in a City shirt but he proved last night how much of an asset he is to us.

Tevez showed the two cones Dzeko and the Basket how to play with a narrow skillfull midfield. his movement in the box was an eye opener, and he always knew what the next move was. With him playing like that we have a chance of winning our games . Two sadnesses. That he should be such a dumb insulting twat and that Mancini always takes so long to see the fecking obvious.

What I celebrated was how City suddenly clicked into place and looked like the utterly dominant team of the first months of the season.

Regarding Tevez---as long as he pulls on a City shirt and puts in his usual shift, I will cheer him.

There is no room for sentiment when you want to win trophies. What happened in the past is irrelevant--the question is whether he gives 100% out on the field, and makes a decisive difference. He passed that test with flying colours.

The Tevez that's come back is a different animal. The old one kept the ball and took it upon himself to score. The new one passes and looks like a team player.

I really like the new Tevez.

His spark gave us an extra impetus in our attack, we all know that's what he brings to the table. It's up to us now to find an adequate replacement for him when he hopefully fucks off in the summer.

This. Big time.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Agree. Before he came back I'd said that he didn't fit into our pre-Xmas system as everything had to go to him and then he'd try and score. The one who's back and especially the other night is part of the team. I also thought he was subdued when he scored. Maybe he's discovered something other than himself or maybe he's just trying to keep really low till summer.

Either way, I didn't want him playing for us but, since he is, let's hope he can make the difference in the last few games

The old Tevez scored about 53 goals in 80 starts, couldn't of been too bad either.

Tevez does what he needs to depending on the players around him. All he's doing now is play like he has been doing for Argentina when paired with people like Aguero & Messi.

He was playing like this for the Argies, dropping deep & passing around the midfield, before he even came to England.

Happy we got our 3rd but no cheers for Tevez.

Regardless of what he has done we all know what he is capable of on the pitch anyway, he was always going to be an improvement on Mario and Dzeko.

If he happens to score the winner against the rags i might get up off my seat for him.

Largely correct, although they have struggled in the Argie set up to get it right... I would say because of rivalries more than anything, but's that's irrelevant.
Two things come out of Tevez fitting into the team imo. One that given enough quality players able to do the same thing, Tevez is happy to play. It is a respect and trust thing. Most english players can't play like that so what's the point of trying.

Secondly, I'm wondering if it genuinely takes 4 great ball players to be effective against a well drilled defence. Each of the 4 if moving well will drag at least 2 players with them, if not both physically then certainly mentally. So if Silva has the ball with two covering him, Aguero runs takes two out, Nasri runs takes two out.. that's like 6 oppo players busy. Tevez ends up with space. Change the order it is the same thing.
To try and cover 4 very tricky players, while doing the usual job of covering Micah and Clichy, not to mention also Barry, Yaya and whoever else hanging around for an opportunity, sounds to me like a job too far. Give or take a bit it takes 2 oppo players to make sure one of those 4 doesn't get a clear opportunity, to break through or shoot. 1 defender to directly try and challenge the other to keep an eye on the first defender in case he fucles up.
Tevez's goal was exactly this. The in out movement from all 4 of them just pulled the whole defence to pieces and Tevez was left alone right in the middle of the penalty box.

4 is the magic number, don't need an out and out striker, just like barca dont. Anything other than the most fantastic defences will be twisted inside out and overrun.

See, the whole Mancini at fault, this is what I have been thinking. I mean, its the media we got our information from for the most part. Tevez said he spoke to him like a Dog and not that he shoulda said "no", but Mancini's line ups alone give you reason to think he may not be dealing with a full deck himself!
Tevez staying and being happy would make me the happiest fan out there, love the guy and we will win it all if he stays on.
