Don't think we can rely on S Ireland seeing as 1) he's a rag and 2) we fucked him off

My United Pal is of the opinion that Utd`s performance against Wigan was one of the worst he`s seen. Could be they are cracking up....especially if Scholes can`t play every game....

No, it'll be 4 or 5 to United. Villa are shit, McLeish is shit, their whole team is injured and they're useless at set pieces (350 corners without scoring, or something to that effect).

Wigan was the freak result, this will be an archetypal cave-in at the swamp. Everton might do something. If they don't, the lead will be back to 8 points by the time we play Wolves.

I'm hoping that wigan beating the rags should put some hope in Villa, but we will see. I've seen Villa roll over and be completely useless in many, many games this season. But they may be looking for something to prove (doubt it), are playing for their futures at the club, or just realize that if you attack the rags you will get chances...

I know that the scum will be nervous though. Like Roberto said, beating them at home shouldn't be too hard a task assuming a straight ref. They know their own average quality over the season (and especially recently). They see how we've played the last two games. So they know that if they tie, winning the title is no longer in their hands. If they tie, the title depends on whether or not we can play to our potential for the last few games.

So hopefully Villa plays above shit and the rags shit themselves. Not too unlikely.

3-0 to the rags methinks. And a clear early penalty ignored.

Forget all that shit about them having all the experience of this, they will be just as nervous as us, in fact more so.

The City players know it is all out of their hands and for City to have any chance, the rags have to fuck up. City are not expected to win the title and so the pressure is off and it is all down to the rags. We can't win it, the rags can only throw it away. It is interesting that when we were top, taggart was expounding how only they could win and City would collapse, yet now, when Bob denies our chances, taggart says it it still in the balance.

The converse is true for the rags. The pressure is on them. They can only lose it. It is theirs for the taking, but only if they perform and get the results. Remember, it was Taggart that coined the phrase "squeaky bum time", because he knows how nerve wracking it is. He knows his team are nervous and just because they have been here before, does not mean that they don't feel that pressure.

Seeing us tear the arse out of West Brom and Norwich will only serve to increase the pressure on his rags to get those results. Knowing that, despite their best efforts to close the goal difference, only to see us open it up again won't help his cause either.

Villa may be shit and a hopeless cause but should they have a go, who knows what may happen?

Anyone know who the ref is?

Well they did give Chelsea an allmighty scare and nearly took a point off them. They also drew against Liverpool at Anfield . So a point could be in their reach but since this is at Old Trafford I am sure the referees won't allow that.

Man Utd are boxing way above their weight. They are an average side getting very strange results. Results certainly not related to the quality of their football. It says it all when their low life Manager has to openly name and critise Phil Dowd for not giving , what is a very dubious penalty. The cheapskate can't even praise Wigan for an excellent performance.

If strange decisions like the penalty against QPR happen against Villa, it's three points united, if the ref is fair, Villa have an excellent chance to get at least a point.

We hit the woodwork 74 times against Bolton a few years back. Then they ran down the other end and I think AlcoDunne did one of his trademark heffalump lunged and gave away a penalty. Gary Speed scored, we somehow lost.

I just wish they were playing someone else, or ONeil's Villa. Nothing is impossible but this is really unlikely.

It always seems that when they have a difficult moment & appear vulnerable, the next opposition is almost as if it had been hand picked. After we put 6 past them, I'm convinced that 95% of the Premier League would have fucked them over next game at OT but they got Steve Bruce & Wes Brown.

Fulham were a truly appalling away side though, yet they started to boss Utd & only missed taking points off them because the ref was frightened of awarding a last min pen, so you never know.

Villa need to believe. When Fulham played United you could see they were so scared at the start but then they started attacking and actually realized that United weren't that good. And had the referee not been inept they would have nicked a point.
Realistically they probably won't get anything but United are definitely feeling the pressure. The only thing I ask is they don't concede after 10 minutes and hand the game to the Rags on a plate.
