In recent weeks I have seriously questioned whether it is worth continuing to follow my team on several occasions. I love City but really am struggling to see the point in spending time, money, effort and emotion on a game that is so obviously bent. I don't think for one minute that City are dodgy (although we would be in the perfect financial position to be so) but what is the point in investing so much in a competition we will not be allowed to win?

this season solely, EPL has been even worser than any Seria A season, because of a very special and never occurred before aim.
the difference - HUGE - is that Serie A - has been pretty always a fixed League, at least for the last 40 years back.
the English game has been increasingly perverted since the PL was founded by the television's interest embodied in the so called "SKY FOUR", but apart for a certain level of uber-respect for the Aristocratic Clubs, the integrity of the game (and opportunity for every Clubs) had always been granted. since this season...

Bent as fook and so clear to see that its not funny. Honest, I wouldnt feel right if City won things and got it handed to us like the rags have, but then their fans are purely driven by big shiny trophies. Just look a rag in the eyes and ask them if they think their side get it easy as far as refs go? They'll give it the ol 'its swings and roundabouts' and then bring up some bollox when they should have got a pen 2 years ago and it was'nt given, prob when they were already 3 up and had already had shit goin for them left, right and centre.

I also think 'they' have 'friends' throughout the rest of the game. You watch Everton roll over like fook for them.

I think our lads have finally come to terms with this. Although maybe too late, they know they have to be at 110% throughout the season as sides play against us like its their cup final and so many roll over for the rags.

The mistakes are not deliberately in favour of certain teams but the officials just struggle under the pressure.

The intensity of the crowds has an effect and the pressure put on by players has an effect but ultimately it comes down to the incompetence of the refs and linesmen. It really is getting worse and worse and yet again this weekend has shown it up yet again.

There is a clamour for diving to be stopped due to so much of it being proven and then we get unlucky with the Tevez thing. That gets seen and the refs think we had better not do that again so the next tv match comes along and the tosser lets it to go.Nothing to do with it being a player in red at all.In fact they were cheated out of a penalty in midweek so its only swings and roundabouts.

Are Spurs victims. Remember that game at Stoke where they lost and were blatantly done by the ref? Mario should have been sent off when they played us and today that plank Atkinson decided the ball had crossed the line when it hadnt even reached it! It certainly isnt just one team that getting screwed.

I personally think that a lot of guessing is going on and that is bound to lead to errors. The guesses are made based on preconceived ideas of players (Mario has no chance whereas Scholes never means to be dirty) and on the way the other player reacts. i.e the cheat.Trouble is the cheat is getting better as the ref is getting worse.

Yes. there is in every sport which is why referring is a hard job....compounded by the fact that most of the pressure is on you and at least half of the supporters of any match in any sport will always blame you for something. its not as easy as it looks, and it already looks hard.

Surely that's the point though. Spurs are another club that has challenged the 'old order' and have therefore been given a bum deal.

Apparently refs state their allegiance to their supported team when they begin their careers

So that they can never ref that particular team and/or rivals?

Now if you were savvy you would put down a team that you had no connection with..

You getting my drift?

Spurs have taken it the hardest this season. They've had some truly shocking decisions go against them. We're not far behind though.

Just listening to Keys & Gray describing an example of blatant cheating, then how they don't like to use the word 'cheat' so it's not 'cheating' then how it doesn't state in the rules that there has to be contact for a penalty to be given, so therefore it was a penalty (although it was 'huge exaggeration', that's fair enough).

Ferguson has also decreed that it's ok.

Now Keys & Gray would probably say the same had Balotelli done it tbf but the fact that a certain amount of the 'football community' are willing to excuse this kind of thing, in order to stay 'friendly' with various people, creates an environment where cheats prosper & those clubs who put the most pressure on referees 24/7 gain the most advantage.

We all know who that is.

If people cared enough, they could stop it but instead, let it pass & eventually forget it ever happened because they prefer to stay 'pals'. That is their agenda.

pretty much agreable and sensed post.
apart for first statement which fail to take into account such an unidirectional statistics to defy any possible mathematical model.
it make very important points, though, particularly about how much more the home crowd might better plays the 12th man role.

Yeah Doomie, that's the whole point of divide and rule mate.

Fuck Spurs and fuck any other victimised team...while they are saying fuck you. That leaves any pressure from the victims merely splintered whingers and those who benefit, pissing themselves laughing.

That is what fucked rugby mate. The big clubs benefited and had the majority of happyfans. The little clubs were justpowerless tiny factions...Who cares?...fuck em!

Clubs like the SCUM have moved it onto a level which hangs the ref whenever they decide he needs a nudge.
Every team he has produced has had an ability to help the ref make and reverse decisions they decide. From chasing the ref to him adding time on they have changed football we need our players get upto speed in the the Game management aspect of the game.

Robson, Bruce, Keane, Nevilles, Rooney have all reffed games, we are new to this, but quick learners. Fergie breeds em.

Hate to admit it but I too am considering not renewing our season cards, just feel that the established order is protected and the refs are too easily influenced to ensure we have a fair and reasonable chance to compete. Granted we have done well this season despite distractions from a couple our own foolish players but overall I'm feeling more and more disenchanted with the premier league and it's officials.
