The forgotten man adebayor?

Postby paulmclaren » Tue Apr 17, 2012 2:16 am

I reckon ade will be back at city next season but does any1 think he will play when he is back?
He's been top quality at spurs this season, if they or no one else buy's him he returns back to city.

I'd have him back. It would be interesting to see how he links up with the team now.

13 goals and 12 assists, or something like that, but he won't be the automatic number one at City and has still looked languid and lazy at times. Give it three months back here and most will revert to thinking he's Dzeko Mk.II, only with a greater sense of self-importance.

Hopefully PSG or Malaga come in with a decent bid.

Roberto doesn't rate his "style"...so as long as he's our manager Ade is on the outside looking in...

I believe Ade failed to show up in every single big match that Spurs had this season, right?

Better than Dzeko imo.

Better touch, better skill, better awareness of team mates, better passer, better at heading, etc. Move also don't break down when he touches the ball....In fact, Adebayor is excellent at keeping the ball ticking.

What he lacks is work ethic, and it seems he is improving at Spurs.
Under Mourinho at Madrid was the hardest I've seen Adebayor work...that man works wonders.

Sadly, I don't think he will play for us again as long as Mancini is the manager. I think same for Tevez next season.

The key is that Adebayor just isn't consistent enough over the season - he's gone off the boil at Spurs of late - most of his goals were at front end of season when he was trying to impress 'Arry. I'd wager it was the same for Mourinho (short spell at Real), as it was for us when he first came here & I can remember fans sick of how he couldn't be arsed before Mancini shifted him out on loan. IMHO he needs to go along with Bridge & RSC

When hes playing well, hes a great asset and almost unplayable.

But when he's not doing it, he's a complete waste of a shirt.

If we bring in a centre forward we need one with more of a football brain. adebayor hasn't got one. If dzeko goes Cavani seems the obvious choice.

Aguero
Tevez (I know but its not set in stone he's going)
Balotelli
Cavani

thats an upgrade on

Aguero
Balotelli
Dzeko
absent Tevez

This is exactly it, how do you consistently get him up for it? He can be unstoppable when he is on blob but its not often enough for him to be our first choice striker. Pretty frustrating when see him play crap and you know he can play fantastic.

No way. Fook him off. Iv seen him drag his feet too many times for City. He obviously couldnt be arsed to buck his ideas up which is why Mancini got rid. Will hopefully be sold in the summer and about £15 million would be a good price. Prob end up at Anzi Makhakala.

Plenty of ability and a big match winner when it suits him.Consistency would be the main issue for me with him.

You never really know what your going to get from him he tends to go from the sublime to the ridiculous.

There are two big problems with him. One he is unreliable so no improvement on some we have. Two he doesn't play the way Mancini wants a striker to and doesn't fit with City's game. I admit that when he is hungry it looks like he does play the way we want, because he comes looking for the ball, but it is an illusion and temp. What City want is a player who gets involved all the time, especially perhaps if they are not playing well to compensate and make themselves useful. Ade does the exact opposite.
Sell at all costs as he is also disruptive.

I'd like him back but I genuinely dont think Mancini would allow it.
His poor man management has seen him exile players like Bridge, Adebayor, and Bellamy and then
get rid of them. Looks like he's doing the same with Dzeko too.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

Yeah, bring back Bridge. World's best left back. That's the key mistake Mancini has made.

He's no longer a part of the team and won't be coming back. Just unwanted inventory that we haven't been able to offload yet

I know it must have been a dreadful experience for him but after the shooting on the Togo bus he didn't turn up for us again. Used the opportunity to stay away for a while then never tried when he came back.
It has been galling to see him running round like a 2 year old for Spurs.
He's already said if doesn't feel loved at City so we ain't gonna get fuck all from him. Lazy and unreliable. Get rid

His man management is so poor that our team has really been going backwards in terms of personnel every year, hasn't it. If only Mancini could assert himself above any individual player and lead us to our highest league finish in a few decades...
