Dzeko

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Dzeko's quoted in the media saying today that he hopes we sign Modric, then refusing to answer questions on whether he'll still be here next season.

Strange stuff.

The reason why Bayern wants Edin is becose Real Madrid wants Gomes and becose smart germans are one of the few clubs in world who have there bisnis in plus they will probobly sell Gomes for some insane number(like 60 milions) and get Edin for much less(like 22-25 milions)who will do same thing that Gomez do in Bayern put head or leag on Ribery or Roben croses and score 30 goals like in Wolfsburg where also in time he play have two amazing wings, so Bayern will pocked some 30 40 milions and have almost same team and that is smart bisnis ...chears by the way that ashole Tevez is amazin player and i must say that Bob make some unclear moves this season and maybe him self lose the title lets hope not but rags have refere so i doubt we will catch up...

I liked Dzeko at the beginning of the season but I don't give a fuck where he ends up now.
He's world class 30% of the time. For the remaining 70% he's fucking shit.

He's a confidence player and needs to be assured of a starting place every game. Something we can't guarantee him.

I think that silly "northern hope" cunt has already left... If not maybe he was banned.

I fucking hope so after his last post where he dissed the club and the manager.

If he was world class 30% of the time I'd tattoo his name on my forehead. He's a decent premier league centre forward for about 5% of the time he's on the pitch. He's European class about 1%.

Grant Holt would have scored as many as he has in our team and would have offered a lot more besides the goals.

That's bullshit ^^^

Though inconsistent, Dzeko at his best is in a different league to Holt....Holt could never score goals like his one against QPR or his ones against Spurs. If he could he wouldn't be 31 and only playing in the premiership for the first time would he?....Dzeko on form and motivated is a very good player. Sadly he's just very inconsistent.

He's been watching and supporting City for a good few years before Dzeko and even the Sheikh arrived, so that's a bit of a mute point...

I agree fully with this but there is an alternative where a player (definitely not Holt!) could actually be half as talented as Dzeko or Mario, but actually twice as good for the team. For instance, an unselfish player with a decent touch, brain & workrate, moderate scoring rate, who just saw his job as feeding & helping Aguero & Silva etc, may have made our whole team more dangerous than someone who competes with Aguero as an alternative for a pass, then gives the ball away away when receiving it.

It's not impossible for these guys to learn though. The Goat used to turn into trouble all the time & swan around a lot when he 1st came into the team, then learned to play one touch, find a blue shirt & work harder. His passing stats, for a bloke in a poor quality, lump it, Joe Royle team, ended up about twice as good as the likes of Heskey, playing in a decent passing Liverpool team.

I agree on that...definitely not holt though.

It's a bit like how Kuyt about three years ago was invaluable to Liverpool when they were half decent as he was willing to put himself about a lot and fitted the system really well. When in reality he has half the natural talent that either Dzeko or Balotelli possess. Or maybe Ramires now at Chelsea. Once again, no way near the most technically competent but his boundless energy and understanding of the 'team' game has made them a much better team.

Didn't say holt was as good, I just reckoned he'd have scored as many. Not the same goals, but as many. I also think Holt would have caused more problems for defenders in the way he puts himself about. Dzeko shows no determination or aggression, which doesn't help his play or popularity.

On current form (since being in the PL) there isn't much to separate players like Dzeko, Holt, Carroll, Crouch etc other than the prices paid for a couple of them.

If we had kept the receipts for Dzeko and Aguero, would you return either of them for your money back? If Dzeko had cost <£10m, then I'd say no. The price we paid is not his fault, but it showed what we were expecting for a player at this position in the league. To date, he's just not got it.

Hehe.

I'll have to try that.

In that list Crouch is a strange one. Over the years, he's been one of the most difficult opponents for successive City teams, going right back to his early Portsmouth days. I also think he's turned in some top performances for England. He also can look like the worst player in the world.

We should have got him (or Kevin Davies) when we threw all that money at Santa Cruz. And he'd have offered us the Plan B that Dzeko doesn't. Plus he's got good feet for a big man.
