Anyone relying on the final game...

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Maybe it's another way of saying that he's not going to field the rag crew, which can only be a good thing. Maybe he wants to catch them off guard with this. Maybe it won't even matter.

I'm not getting worked up over this until we're actually in a position where this game can be decisive & about to kick off.

fucking Ted was right all along.

The entire world vs Manchester City Football Club.

Next year? we better win the league by 10 pts.

related, Ross said MON was a former City man who loves our club. We get no love. No one wants us to upset the balance against these cunts. Commentators in the US have, get this, referred to this as "Good v Evil" which i agree with, UNTIL i realize that WE are the fucking evil ones...for "spending" to win the title. YCMIU. Fucking crazy.

us v the world. we need to smash these cuntholes...all of them. historically, if someone analyzes this season and the attitudes of clubs and the media it will be seen as a really really fucking odd outlier i believe.

as a gloryhunter, i can say i NEVER hated the rags until this season for real. It started at Wemberley with a drunken Andie predicting their victory and it's gotten worse ever since. That might sound strange to some of you, but...it's true.

COME ON CITY!

Incorrect.

Each position gained in the prem is worth over 500 k...so unless a couple of million is fuckall to a skint club like Sunderland Id suggest otherwise.

This. Good point which a lot of people seem to have forgotten about

Actually ...the real figure is a cool 750,000 pounds per position....so thats 3 million quid up for grabs.

Perhaps what he is actually saying is "I'm not going play any of the ex-rags I've inherited cos I don't trust the fuckers. So maybe a few fringe players, who will at least try to win, will get a game."

Slightly off topic, but was surprised at the ticket prices for the final game. £50 for me and £25 for my 12 year old nephew - paid it nonetheless, but bit of a hike from the normal prices.

I think as someone said Swansea is our best bet, simply because they play their football regardless of who there playing and have no ex rag/scotish connections and have nothing to lose while sunderland and everton wont want to upset the apple cart. This is what im hoping anyway...
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, Im still attending this one. As the club well know, the propect of us winning the league on that day is too much to miss. Im also doin the rag game and, If Im honest, Im just considering us lucky that it was'nt wrapped up by then.

The form we're on, I can see us winning every game from now till the end of the season. Can one of the rags fixtures get atleast a draw against them?? they can, if they play and dont fookin roll over. The rolling over part looks like its on the cards as teams have been doing it all season. Fingers crossed though.

hopefully Swansea can get a point at the swamp.

swansea has absolutely nothing to play for.

They play great football and in my opinion will want to show that against the rags. this season the rags have been incapable of handling teams that play decent football.

I can hope.

this have been the greatest concern coming to Wales so close to a long European trip and my biggest hope since the need of hunting the rags has raised.
their latest performances and mood is letting me not as confident as I was before, tho.

??? Turin>Napoli is about 3 times further than Manchester>Swansea.

Swansea are going to go all out. Trust me.

O'Neill might try to blood youngsters, but they're going to be the players with the most to prove, so surely there's little to complain about there, even if true.

We've seen teams roll over for us this season, we've also seen teams we've expected to roll over put up a fight- Sunderland are one of those we haven't matched. We only have ourselves to blame.

I will love my gut feeling to be proved pathetically wrong. and I am very glad to trust of your cooler assessment.
votes are for You to be spot on, indeed!

edit: and for sake of good geography only - not deemed to any will of polemic - the travel i was referring to is Portugal>Wales, actually... :-)

So, basically, You are blaming City inability to buy referees and media and cheat the League.
or have I lost something along the road?

I think he was blaming our inability to win at home against Sunderland, and to get anything away to Swansea and Arse. I don't disagree with your sentiments regarding refs and media, but we had it in our own hands and cocked it up big time.

Yes. fair and solid point. and I am quick (after having fallen asleep yday!) to credit it to You both.

But the overall argument still stands and it's for everyone to see.
Every team are gonna have a dodgy spell of games: You cannot discount it from a seasonal budget, particularly when You play in the most demanding League (plus 2 domestic very competitive Cups) of the world. I only cannot forgive THE WHOLE PACK (from manager to Chappy) for not being up to understand and address the appaling, blatant collective give up @ Arse and I raised my genuine concern at guessing if the players were wondering to make a VillasBoas @ Mancini.
besides that, I mean, eeezz normal! and City aren't any different. we've seen yesterday, and several times along the season, the allmighty Barca not coping with a tight well focused and organized negative tactic, set up to hope for a lucky break on the counter according to the most old fashioned italian pragmatic cynicism. and They are Xtimes European Champions, fitted with total confidence acquired by the most astonishing spell of success since the Di Stefano's Real Madrid with their key players also living the most mature age of their career, while City is still a work in HUGE progress with key players young and with plenty of margin for improvement ahead..... and They have MESSI!

Now, my point is: I see that football is everyone from mean street's major entertainment (me first) and thus everyone is rightiously entitled to have personal views on it and the playing style that fits best with their idea of entertainment and success.
But the only way to climb the heavenly mountain where City Owners have put the stake at - i.e. steady domination of world football - is to forget the glory days of 4-4-2 rushing football and establish - patiently - a steady benchmark of passing game which grant control of the game.
Beside there is the plan B argument - already and eloquently disserted by Ted, Beefy and alias: on this my understanding is still in becoming as it is worthier to go for a possible instant gain (upon contingency of a single doomed match) or to insist and instill confidence in the main pattern of football as Barca had along the years.

certainly we bottled 3/4 games along the road, but so did Rags (and overall does every top teams along a season) but the difference had been made by the DOULBLE STANDARD applied, not by City not being perfect for 38 games.

I was annoyed when I originally saw his quote. But then thinking about o'shea and wes orange at the back, I'd prefer two kids from the under 6 side - at least they can't score own goals. Hopefully the kids will have something to prove and nothing to fear and may cause an upset.

Wait for the stories about how the rags are linked with every Sunderland kid in the next few weeks....

I tend to think that people think playing the rags is one of the reasons for being in the prem. Most fuckers think it is a highlight.Lift their game to play them I think this rollin over is cos they are shit not cos they want the fuckers to win.

Seems Bob has wound up MON good and proper.

It's working...

But Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill has strongly rejected the idea that the Black Cats would fail to offer much resistance against United at the Stadium Of Light on 13 May.

"We have taken four points off Manchester City this season. He had obviously forgotten to check the fixtures list properly," the Northern Irishman told the Daily Telegraph.

"I don't know what his insinuation was but if he had any idea about the league at all he would know that the integrity is pretty good.

"I don't have an email address for him, but I really thought about sending him one to tell him to keep an eye on what he says in the future."

Rodgers said something as well. Seems pretty obvious what Mancini was up to, but both have reacted.

O'Neill sounded like he wants to punch the chops off Mancini by the tone of that response. If Mancini's comments stirred it up then good. We've seen that anything can happen this season.
