Can we buy both of them on a John Lewis never knowingly sold a dud centre forward deal and return them within 28 weeks if it doesnt work out?

If I'd never seen Lllorente before, I'd send him back after tonight's performance, along with the rest of the Bilbao team.

I can't be arsed waiting for a reply from that miserable twat & I don't want any of his white fivers so:

Ted Hughes » Wed Dec 15, 2010 11:03 am

As has been pointed out he's not particularly quick so his attributes are touch, strength, intelligence, aerial power, finishing.

Imo, strength wise he's ok but not fantastic, touch is very good & his movement is clever. He's good in the air in Germany, will he be as effective in England? Hard to say. Didn't dominate the rags in the air like Andy Carroll did with Vidic.

The main worry for me is whether he'll produce he same level of goals & consistency of finishing as he does over there. Against the rags he cost them the game by being nervous in front of goal. I've seen him miss a lot of chances of the kind which Adebayor misses but he is a better finisher & has much better positional sense, so will get much more chances to score than Ade. He's also a lot more intelligent on the ball than Ade & that could turn out to be his biggest asset if he signs. He's an intelligent player, no doubt & like Scholes, his brain can gain him a yard. Still a gamble though & imo Lllorente is better, as is Torres but they're playing against different opposition so it's just guesswork really. Certainly has talent.

funny is that while you were typing such a remarkable advice, I was on the off topic section trying to revert in a decent urban language my humble legal advice deemed to bring an even unnecessary relief to your personal concern....

and for the records: I very very rarely apply my tongue otherwhere than around bushes and whether I'd decide to do, it would take more than your soft personality to prevent me.

on topic: I'd like to remind you that this is a football forum, therefore should you happen to talk football instead of abusing people with poor effort and weak results, you may even find yourself on the position to be respected and regarded as Ted.

cheers and wishes

From the two games I have seen, he seems to be very mobile given his size and puts himself about. But, if Bilbao as a team played like they did against the munes week in week out, they would have walked la liga, so I am skeptical.

I have said it before, but a decent front man prepred to do the dirty work with (dare I say it) Tevez and Aguero buzzing around is, I think what Mancini is aiming for ultimately, with Yaya, Silva supporting, and a quarterback style player behind them.

The perfect quarterback style of player imo would be Javi Martinez who also plays for Bilbao.

Shall we pick up Muniain as well then? Excellent talented winger and we keep saying we need one.

Muniain is the biggest talent they have imo & the player I would go for. Martinez was worryingly shite when moved back into midfield the other day & didn't look the same player as he has when I've watched him in the past.

Seeing him play that badly on a day when I was really watching him in particular, has given me big worries about him but not as big as about Herrera, who is the player we have been most strogngly libked with on the rumour mill. He was like Elano's really really shit brother last night. Tbh the whole team looked dead on their feet though, so perhaps they have been overplayed or nerves got to them.

The player who totally eclipsed anything Atletic did was Diego Capel. I used to wonder about him as a potential player for us back in the Sven days, when he had David Lee Roth's hair & Drogba's dive but he seemed to have dropped below our level & be a potential journeyman instead.

Against us, I thought he did well & last night he was phenomenal. I don't see much Portuguese football, but last night's performance by Capel was everything we would want from a wide player. Literally everything.

2yrs ago I said he was the man for us clever player, tidy on the ball, hard bastard, scores goals when on his Jack Jones, perfect player Mancini would love him at City as he is also a leader, will he leave Bilbao ? they will lose someone from a golden crop of players. 30 mill yes about right he is the best Centre forward in Europe ot on a par with Super Mario Gomez.

If we are going to be shelling out big on a new front man then we should go all out for Cavani. No question.

Hey c'mon Cavani eliminated Napoli with the worst night in finishing at Chelsea since Tony Cunnigham played for us. Top player I agree, for me we have Cavanni's in Aguero Llorente is better than Edin and more reliable than the loon form Milan. He also plays for Spain which is proof he can play footgall no six foot donkeys gonna get a game in that side,Mate.

I hope not Ted he has the calmness we lack at times, plus for me he is man, no bullying bollocks gonna work with him and he does not get involved like the idiot. Some may not like this, If I never see balo again in a City shirt I would not give a toss. LLORENTE is gonna improve someone big time if he moves on.

Ted, apologies for my delay in responding to you.

I couldn't decipher a straight answer from your reply to me. I presume from the response that you no longer wish to wager on this?

The wager I was offering (as if you didn't already know) was on the fact (as I plainly highlighted in bold when quoting you ), that your claims I had never mentioned Lllorente before seeing him play v Utd were, as usual, just pure nastiness on your part with no grounding in truth..

You invented any other possible reason for a wager rather than take the bet I was clearly offering.

As I knew I could prove it, I decided that to trap you into such a wager would be a bit below the belt, so I posted the proof anyway, as you have clearly seen, yet no apology for calling me a liar has so far been forthcoming.

Just in case you refuse to go back and read it here is your quote again and the relevent line as I highlighted it at the time plus my reply.

I'd rather go proven and spunk 30 mil for RVP.

He hasn't, though. he'd never mentioned him until Bilbao played the filth.

Ever since then he's been hailing him as the best thing since sliced bread. I've seen Llorente look very ordinary on many occasions.

Llorente is playing for a team that plays for him, in an environment which suits him and in a league where there are a lot of soft touches.

Cavani is in a different class, playing against tough defences, scoring goals, creating and leading the line every week.

A huge gulf in class between them IMO.

Would you care to put money on that ?

I recon it's pretty plain what I was offering the wager for & I think I've offered reasonable proof that it's a wager you would have lost.

A simple apology for basically calling me a liar would not be unreasonable imo.

Ah, I understand.

So you're not prepared to wager on the qualities of these fine footballers?

Also Ted, I'm sure you'll admit if you look back on the post in which you said "do you want to bet on that" that it was unclear on exactly what you were staking as, contrary to your earlier assertions, you failed to highlight the text properly. I presumed your wager was on the quality of the two players.

As I say, you failed to highlight the text properly, despite the simplicity of this task, and therefore I quite understandably misinterpreted your offer

In light of this I'm willing to accept an apology from you for your false accusations of me welching.

Also, i believe in the 'ask the lads' archives there is some guidance on highlighting text. It generally pays to enlarge or change the colour of text as the bolding function is not particularly effective, as we have seen here.

None work on the mobile app. I've missed the point and been left looking like a knob a few times due to this.

(Not knocking the app by the way. It's generally pretty ace.)

Nope, the text is clearly highlighted & your accusations proved as being unfounded & unfair.

One of us is clearly something of a cad, generally dishonourable & behaving in an underhand manner.

I will leave the neutral to decide which.
