Just wanted to say a couple things here ... firstly, rape is a horrible thing, I think we can all agree to that. That being said, it is definitely not hard to get sentenced for rape. Maybe this isn't the case in England, but in the USA all it takes is that the 2 people had sex and the girl says it was rape.
If you take a second to think about that, it can easily lead to some less than desirable situations. Personally, I saw it happen to a friend. He was accused of rape by a girl at a party, and there was nothing he could provide as defense. It was he said/she said and in the end that was enough for him to be labelled as a sex offender. Years later, his life being ruined, the girl actually went to him and apologized because the guilt was eating her up, she had lied. Of course, that doesn't mean anything in effect ... he had already been ostracized from society.
I can't comment on evan's case, none of us can really ... if what happened really is rape, than he deserves to be charged and deserves everything coming to him. If it's one of the cases of wrongful accusation, then his life is being ruined .
