Silly Season Starts - Llorente

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

when I wrote my "presumed" cocklicking apology of Ted's football intelligence and open mind it was late at night and I forgot to drop the last line, whereas actually the whole post was aimed at.

I clearly remember I exchanged with Ted about the opportunity to buy either Dzeko or Llorente before the purchase took place. I was, and partly am yet, a great admirer of Edin's skill (so taking apart the goalscoring capability) and I tended to prefer him, despite having a great opinion of Llorente as well.

perhaps, as often happens, he was spot on again.

just to testify rather than slurp...

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

sorry Beef, but that is really beyond my capability.
would be so kind to help my understanding, as I tend to enjoy your decent humour?

if it wasnt referred to my post but just only deemed to re-launch the discussion on Llorente, I'm You will pardon my well known egocentrism.... :-)

It was a play on words mate. Llorente is a resort in the Philippines and there's a resort in Spain called Lloret, which was the Spanish link.

I can't believe I explained it. Shit, but who cares.

So you're not prepared to wager on the qualities of these fine footballers?

Also Ted, I'm sure you'll admit if you look back on the post in which you said "do you want to bet on that" that it was unclear on exactly what you were staking as, contrary to your earlier assertions, you failed to highlight the text properly. I presumed your wager was on the quality of the two players.

As I say, you failed to highlight the text properly, despite the simplicity of this task, and therefore I quite understandably misinterpreted your offer

In light of this I'm willing to accept an apology from you for your false accusations of me welching.

Also, i believe in the 'ask the lads' archives there is some guidance on highlighting text. It generally pays to enlarge or change the colour of text as the bolding function is not particularly effective, as we have seen here.

Nope, the text is clearly highlighted & your accusations proved as being unfounded & unfair.

One of us is clearly something of a cad, generally dishonourable & behaving in an underhand manner.

I will leave the neutral to decide which.

None work on the mobile app. I've missed the point and been left looking like a knob a few times due to this.

(Not knocking the app by the way. It's generally pretty ace.)

Correct. Although I shan't claim to have been using the App. I was on my PC and did not notice the bolding of the text. Looking back now I can still barely notice it.

Fact remains, Cavani is on a different planet to Llorente. Llorente is a 'flavour of the month' player who will prove to be no more than decent in time. Cavani will be a known top player for the next 7/8 years.

Well in that case, if I'd had taken the bet you pretended to offer, then in 7 or 8 years, ( if one or both of us or Cavani wasn't dead by then ), I may have had to pay up, but we both know such a bet would have been absolutely fucking impossible & you never had the slightest intention of actually having it. You were just deflecting from the issue, which is that you accused me of bullshitting about watching Lllorente, something which has now been proven to be an unfounded and unfair remark.

Then you have blamed me for not offering the bet in the 1st place, something which you have now found to be untrue.

Still no apology for your earlier remarks or even recognition that they were unfounded.

Usually, if I or anyone else finds themselves to be totally in the wrong when casting aspersions about someone, friend or otherwise, we usually aknowledge we were wrong, apologise and move on.

You seem to be made of different stuff.

So now I'm a bullshitter, & bully and contemptuous, all because I said I think Llorente is in the same class as Cavani & thought you were talking bollocks ?

You decide to start answering other people's posts telling people I don't have a genuine opinion, & I'm the one who is being a bully ?

I prove my opinion was an honest one & I am the bullshitter ?

I don't see how that can be fair at all.

I agree with Ted on this one. Seems like Ger has just had a few bad days, could be something going on in his personal life maybe, and has just decided to take it out on someone offering a genuine opinion on a player (which I don't see anything wrong with, it is a forum to air your opinions after all).

Even if Ted had only seen him in the matches against the rags, there's no need to attack a fellow fan is there?
