Rhombus Gob is more of a problem. He is a busted flush. Looks a liability.
Maybe that's what the whisky sodden old pisscan means. Evans is doing his own job and covering up for Camel Face's shortcomings.

Durham on Talkshite is just explaining how there was actually nothing wrong with the defending at either end in that game.

These blokes sometimes lull people into the impression that they actually have some idea what they are talking about, then they suddenly blow their cover.

Smalling hasn't started a game for 6 weeks or so (I think). Rafael and Evans were both poor the other day but I'd expect them to play much the same team, maybe with Rooney dropping back into midfield or Cleverley in for Welbeck.

I don't understand how Ferguson has signed two big money players to cover CB & fullback & ended up with Rafael & Evans there. Surely Jones at fullback & Smalling at CB are better than those two ? For all his achievements in psyching out oppo teams, that's dodgy management from a football perspective imo.

Mind you if teams don't bother turning up when they play Utd, I suppose it's a bit of a shock when someone actually plays well & puts them to the test & you find out your CB is pile of shit. I bet he'd get away with Savic in there for half a season the way teams roll over for that shower.

It's like opposition midfields not putting Carrick under pressure - how many times have you seen him shit himself when closed down quickly? And yet they'll let Scholes and him ping balls all over the pitch.

Both good points and what a lot of us have been saying all season. Potentially no footballer likes to be put under a lot of pressure, but look at the way our players deal with it, a feint, twist away, dummy, turn, let the ball roll on, just pass it first time.. even Joleon is on that tack now. Generally nearly everyone of our players stays calm and stays in control. I've watched a couple of games, most unfortunately, where countless rag players treat possession like a hot potato and crap it.

They only get away with it because teams dont get stuck in. as we keep repeating.. repeating... repeating

It won't happen cos it is too chancy in such a game, but I'd love to see City play like they did v (i think) BB. Very high line challenging like barca as soon as we lost the ball. Do that to the rags and we would be putting the pressure on their most vunerable players. They would crack up within 15 - 20mins. Coincidently about the time they lasted v barca. ha ha

We did that in centre midfield the semi (after intially hanging back & struggling) robbed the ball off them & scored, then Scholes got so pissed off he lost it & got sent off 2nd half.

Exactly.

To be totally fair to the rags, they know full well their weakness and that has to be why they come out blazing to try and get ahead before the likes of barca or City now get their act together. Realistically it is the only way they would get to stand a chance. They knew the game was up in the CL final the moment that barca gained a momentum. You could see it visibly in the body language of every rag player.
Now I'm not saying they fear us as much as barca perhaps, but they know we can outpass them generally and have the players to hurt them exactly in the positions they are weakest. Now if that isn't a recipe for a team to shrink to try and cover those weaknesses I don't know what is. They have been trying all season to get their shit together in DM and at the back and as Wigan and Bilbao showed have failed, cos they don't have the players.
Saw a comment after WIgan from a rag saying 'once again a team that goes at them fucles them up, thank god most of the other teams in the league haven't realised'. Says it all.

It will take 2 goals to kill them and allow City to just play with freedom, once that happens the are dust again. If they go ahead then City have got a job on their hands, but I for one amconfident we would overwhelm them anyway.
