The Mail initially reported it was Webb but obviously got it wrong. Not strange for them.

We have seen in the last two games (when we were supposed to have mason in both away games) that who the ref is can change just hours before the kick-off.

Why is this happening? To save on travel expenses?

The premier league has the highest incidence of last minute changes to officials than any other top league in the world. There are suggestions that because they are appoitnted so far in advance, that changes are often made in response to betting patterns. Not sure how true that would be, but if the asians can get to cricketers, they can sure as hell bring pressure to bear on lone referees
