Since Arsenel I dont think you can fault a single thing Mancini has done, both on the pitch and with his words in the press off it.

The only games we need to worry about winning are the ones on the field, we seem to be going back into the defensive mentality of recent months. Fuck it, fuck them, lets win three games! Thats all that matters.

I'm a Cunt!

One of his cronies said that he's paid out just over 500 grand so far but if City win it'll cost him another 400.

Worth doing it just for that.

yes, they have to try and see it this way. In reality though the derby will be too much to keep a lid on it all. If the team can keep a perspective of one game at a time and ok one derby, then so much the better. If they can keep it to 3 football games, 3 chances to show themselves how good they are, 3 more to enjoy.

We are better than the rags, we know it, if we concentrate on just playing to enjoy passing the ball around and seeing what comes we will walk it. Sounds too simple dunnit, but that is the truth, we have the players and the playing style to take the game away from any team in the country, do that and we are more than half way there. Can we keep that mentality?

Thing is i dont doubt for a minute they all have the confidence and belief. my worry is that they wont give that extra little push that is sometimes needed.

Things like the other day when you see Yaya joggin back into position, he should be bursting a lung to back there! Do that for three more games and like you say we will walk it.

He'll wish he hadn't said that imo. Idon't think the rags have an advantage on us at any age group as it stands now & we are just embarking on ramping our youth system up by 1000%.

This sounds like an excuse for them to use if we win the league (our money won it v's their youth) & is a sign Ferguson thinks we will.

I think he's hopelessly trying to take some pressure off his players after the whole "experience" charade collapsed in itself & backfired monumentally on his not-so-experienced-after-all squad. It'll make a handy excuse as well since their supporters have been using it for a while.

Its also the day they make a fucking fortune worldwide selling their own rights ala Madrid and Barca.
Be careful what you wish for.

The day that happens the PL goes to shit. This is the primary reason why La Liga is awful beyond the top 2.
How the PL's TV rights are handled now is the way to go...the apparent Sky bias is irrelevant and can be ignored;
its better than turning into La Liga.

I think we've seen over the last 3 games that we have a core of players, with a formula, that will put the required effort in to win football matches.I cant fault the effort of any of the players used in the last 3 games. The one who worries me when we get put under pressure is Nasri as he has the biggest potential to go hiding. Over the next 2 games we will come under pressure in matches. Id rather see him on the bench for these 2.

I really do think the the passion and desire to pick up the results is there though. I look at these 3 games and think if we play how we have done over the last 3 and take our chances, we'll win the lot

I remember being told after the Arsenel game that it was unfair to criticise the teams March collopse as we didnt have the 'experience'.

I didnt buy it then, I dont now, and if we win the league then that excuse, aka load of bollocks, can be put to bed once and for all.

The "experience" thing is a bullshit make believe comment that pundits like to use to make themselves sound clever. The only time I deem it relevant is in a champions league environment where sometimes you need to play the fans/referee. We were naive in the champions league this season as a TEAM.

But to suggest that a team as good as ours who have spent their life on a football pitch cannot cope with the demands of one or two months in the premier league is laughable. If United lose this championship do you think anybody will suggest they lacked the experience?

Thing with commentators/pundits if they repeat something enough people start believing it.

I think taggart will up his mind games next week, after the derby, especially if we win.

I am glad sky have us as the early kick off on "Super Sunday" against newcastle as we could win the league that day :-) imagine how sweet it would be to be in a pub full of rags on that day if we win and they lose

i have absolutely loved bobby's mind games ... this whole season the media have been telling us we are shit and talking about how united 'just knows how to win' and all that bullshit.

If Bobby came out and said "no! we can win! we will win! blah blah" it puts all the pressure on us to get results constantly. If Bobby says, you know what? You're right, there's no way we can beat united, everyone drops their guard and doesn't know how to react. It totally changes the tone of the conversation and makes it so that we are not debating on their terms anymore. If the players then come out themselves and say "we believe we can do it" ... they are pumping themselves up and upping the belief in the squad. That has nothing to do with the outside pressure that Mancini is attempting (and succeeding in my opinion) to deflect.

Now though, there is no one who isn't feeling the pressure and it's good that the team has been able to come into this with confidence and on a 2 win streak, pumping themselves up.

I don't think Mancini's comments have been aimed at United, more aimed at ourselves and to piss the Rag Tops off, and I include Sky in that.

What it has done is turn the tables with regard to winning the league. They've constantly harped on about United's experience without real comment from Taggart while dumbing down our chances. Since Mancini said we cannot win it they've now had to begrudgingly push us forward in attempt to build up the end of season run-in.

Mind-games - ruining good anti-City stories since 2012.
