Anyone still think Hughes is the man?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Or should we just get rid of hughes?

If our defensive players (and I include midfield in that) were as good as our attacking players then we would be very close to top and we'd be where we need to be to get that vital 4th place finish we desperately need.

They aren't, we aren't. Getting rid of Hughes would be the answer for sure if we didn't have time constraints. But we DO have time constraints so we have to stick with him and hope he pulls it together. If he doesn't then it's balaclava and baseball bat time with misterboj ;o)

I agree.
2 probs that have got my back up this season.
RB slot..Trying to correct it dropping Micah for Zabba..Has it worked? Well theres an improvement.
CB slot. My summing up....Unfit Kompany plays because Toure is injured. In the 2 games he outshone Lescott and was a better player.
Now Toure is back Kompany is dropped? Not for long i reckon.

If the management were as good as the players we would be top 4.

You can still be a fan - even a supportive fan - and think that things need to be improved.
Why should "real football fans" not be able to protest/question/be disapointed? If you love something, you want the best for it. As a fan, you should have ther ight to voice your opinion if something isn't.

By the way, what's a diiik?

His tactics are the problem how many times have you seem us throw away games from winning positions Liverpool 2 up, Fulham 2 up, Burnley 3-2 up

I don’t think the players are the problem, they just don’t know what the fcuk they are supposed to be doing on the pitch.

We cant even get the basics at defending right its shocking.

We took that second half by the scruff of the neck & I thought it would be the beginning of us a unit.

But we fucked it up and SWP on the left and Petrov on the right amongst other 'obstacles' that the manager laid in our way....

I'm not for one second going to defend today's debacle.

But we've still only lost one game mate...

Plus the switching of flanks didnt stop us from havin chances to kill the game off..WE DID HAVE THEM.
Its the defense.
Im sure Hughes will sort it now he has more options.
If
hes a good manager he will have to bite his lip and admit Lescott aint doing it on the pitch.Ned or Kompany please Mr Hughes.Jolly has had enough chances to prove his worth.Fact.

That's a big if mate, isn't it.

I always suspected Dev was doing it on purpose.. surely basic English is a must for a man in his job ie. teacher but who knows these days. As for this Ashton chap, we'll he's playing out with text talk when there's no need for it when you have a keyboard infront of you.

In fairness, Dev is a maths teacher so maybe he gets away with not being able to spell aljubra and giomatry, can all English teachers add up?

Well I would expect them to know basic maths certainly. Surely the teaching training courses they go on have certain standards - Dev's mistakes were always ludicrously bad which made me smell a rat. Perhaps he wasn't putting it on I don't really know!

Back on topic after the spacker/wum invasion, I think others have brought it up before, but the pattern forming this season is eerily familiar.

Above expectation start to the season, then slowly other managers work out how to break the tactic and slowly good results turn iffy, then ultimately we put in a series of abject performances. I think at the moment the difference is that we have upgraded the defeats to draws - and we have to hope we wont sink further to a losing run. However 5 draws is still 10 points lost - against opposition which were you a betting man, you would put your hard earned on city in a two horse race.

For those who want to say we should be happy with how "well we are doing" my views and I am sure those of many others above the malaise at city under Hughes has nothing to do with the money we have spent - I would have hoped to beat the likes of Burnley, Fulham, Birmingham, Wigan even when we were shit - so for people saying that we have too much expectation, fucking bollocks.

The defensive personnel have been upgraded to individuals who are proven premier league performers. Yet two years running, individual mistakes are made consistently by individuals with a previously impeccable record. Were this a scientific experiment, there is only one constant regarding city's defence - and that is the manager/coaches
