Theres more to this than meets the eye

That's what I was thinking but Big Dave's come out and said Hodgson's the only one they have approached. I think they've looked at the whole picture and decided that Redknapp is not a viable option and personally I agree with them. They are at a point where they want to move the team on and not revert to the old guard which Redknapp inevitable, will.
It's started already, listening to TS and Darren Lewis is on from the media. He's saying that near enough every paper is running that this is the wrong move and that 'Arry should've been the choice. That's what riles me about this country, the media believe they are above everything and because 'Arry was their boy Hodgson will now have his cards marked. One slip and it'll be all about how Redknapp would've done better, forgetting how shit he's been since Xmas.
Funny though, TS have just read out a few text from listeners, all saying it's the wrong move yet the first caller on is a Brom fan saying he's gutted and that Hodgson will do well. They then go to faces in football on Twitter who are all in agreement that it's a good move and give them a little stick then return to a fan on the phone saying 'It's not the fans choice'. I wonder what their stance is?

Im not all that bothered by the argument that king kenny is failing too, because he seems out pf his depth all these years down the line. Woy was shockingly bad when he got a shot at the big time, although im sure all the ownership issues didnt help
I just think that as someone with very little personality, who is maybe quite passive on the touchline and fails to convey emotion in pressers, he is on a hiding to nothing regardless of his abilities or what he achieves. He will be murdered by hm press the minute anything goes wrong. I am fully expecting some sort of turnip headline within the next few months.
I actually feel sorry for him, as i like him and think he deserves a shot. But when all is said and done, there are much better managers the fa could have gone for overseas. He has really inly got the job by default because the fa want an englander and harry is too dodgy a choice for the sponsors

as per Ted's, Woy understands football, Twitchy does not. In the wake of the Euro Finals probably the wisest choice. but I do agree thaey both are not the answer to move on the next generation. on the other thread I guessed Pardew if not Rodgers for that sake.

try and live in a country where pretty the whole media is owned by an incompentent "fixer" with a huge egomania an extreme faith on populism. then all by sudden You find yrself praying for long life to Murduch... :-(
[I know that even an attempt comparison between the 2 countries is pretty insulting for those established at north, tho.]

Harry's tactics would be to try & bullshit Gerrard, Scholes, Lampard, Terry & Ferdinand to think & play like they are 20 years old. Then when it didn't work, he'd fuck off. Roy will try to get Lampard Gerrard, Terry & Ferdinand playing a tactical game, & when it doesn't work, he'll be fired but the new bloke can finally fuck Lampard Gerrard, Terry & Ferdinand off & we can start to rebuild.

how can anyone possibly fail miserably in such a short space of time ? come off it the guy never stood a chance after the disaster that was the dat waiter and without the quick money from Boston , even king kenny would have gone by now

Hodgson will make England harder to beat and might just take some steps further than of late. That is all we should be expecting, realistically. Fuck the press, let them pick holes...in time no one will care what they write.

Mate, to say England are averege is a bit rich, imo, if You'd pardon me.
particularly when in comparison to the current status of the remainder of continental opponents, apart from Spainiards.
only avarege dept is arguably the front row, where it's Shrek and very little more and it has to guess what kind of Shrek we shall see by that time.
England has finally found a world class keeper, has very decent defenders when set up properly (and here Hodgson takes great advantage fm his Italian experience) as well as good solutions to shuffle in the middle of the park along with some great young talents on the flanks, now raising to fit the international stage, imo.
England problem is and always will be the hugely demanding season they come from. as fans we do enjoy, but that on the other hand, prevent England to take the honours they deserve at international level.
