Read the match preview....(then say wonderful things about me)
ruralblue wrote:Lee, just search Johns name! The preview was brilliant but I seem to recall he did a fantastic piece a few weeks back that went into a little more detail. Unless I am mistaken, of which case I blame cider, rafter and my heart rate being so high for the past week!

It was close all the way in to the last game with us away at Newcastle and "They" were at home, the MuEN was of course full of how they were bound to win it having a nice easy home game while we had to go up against a very good newcastle side so of course had no chance................and we went and took it with the style that became our own, attacking football at its very best where our defence was to score more goals, the game was a sea-saw and there are many better right ups than I could manage, but my memory is more to do with the crowd that day.
We may well have been away, but if there was more geordies in that ground it wasn`t by many, the noise was a constant roar rising to deafing for the goals, the last of our goals and the final whistle will live with me forever (And the newcastle fans that day were magnificent as they stayed and applauded), as will the journey home that turned into a party on the motorway as the traffic crawled stop start most of the way back.
