I'm actually glad we have to play both QPR and Newcastle.....would rather them than two seemingly innocuous fixtures that the team may subconsciously think they would stroll
The players know that both the barcodes and QPR will give us a real game and so I don't think we'll go at it with anything less than total focus...and that's where we are at our best

I'm with Ant on this one.
Some of the neutrals I've spoken to reckon that even if we "scrape" through against Newcastle and then manage to beat (fighting for survival) QPR, the Scum will probably score a bucketful in each of their two remaining games and sneak the title on a better goal difference. Ostensibly, this might, as a perfunctory assessment, be a seemingly valid viewpoint but, equally, if we're in the right frame of mind and play to our potential, there's nothing to stop us going out and completely demolishing Newcastle and QPR and consigning this argument to that of a purely academic one.
The momentum is now with City, the Scum are a fast fading force and the psychological impact of last night's result will be massive for both teams. We are more than capable and skilful at taking anyone apart and if our two last games are a more difficult proposition than those of the Trafford Rat Boys, then victory will be more gratifying for being hard won.
We can do it and this season will enter the realms of legend.

thats without accounting for goals for us v qpr.

As I said in the match thread, that Arsenal game will be in the players heads and the feelings that they got from that will be very fresh in the minds of all our lads. This surely must be motivation enough to push us to our first title in over 30 years. I cant see players like Vinny, Yaya, Joe and Nigel allow anything but two wins and high standards from everyone.
I liked how they celebrated the win last night, calm and dignified. No jumping around like loons, the lads know we have a job to do and I full expect them now that they are in the position to finish the job.

Yep, said it at the time but everyone was too busy trying to strap Bob into the electric chair, the players snapped out of it after the arse performance and fully realised they were letting themselves down. It is mental experience and they can call on that again now, imo it had to happen to get that experience of how to deal with it. The quality that City have it is simple at the end of the day, stay relaxed and focus on putting everything into the moment. The commitment we have seen since the arse game is what it is all about, do that and this City team will carry all before them.
Typical City is well gone and I don't think that not winning the title proves it hasn't, In a tight race someone has to be shaded out and that doesn't equate to anything tbh.
For the team these next two games are now the biggest. Fuck the league and all the conotations, just go out to win to prove ourselves the best, the rest will fall into place.
As for the barcodes, let's see what their game on Wed brings, Chelsea have had a shot in the arm and will take some containing, Newcastle's bid for a 4th place could be well on the ropes by Sunday, especially if Spurs beat Bolton. The more critical it is the more desperate they may be and that I don't think is a good way to come to a match with City, who by the looks of it have learnt that their best option is to keep it cool.
City have the know-how for this, that is why typical doesn't come into it any more.
