Don't know why but I feel confident about today,I just think the lads will have enough we've come this far.
As for Newcastle media darlings it really is sickening how much the media want us to get beat.

Pardew starting to believe his own hype?? Prick!

The best thing for us is that Pardew and the team start buying in to what the media are trying to make them out to be. We'll walk all over them if that happens.

Why the distaste for Newcastle? They've had a great season and have played great football. If I were Pardew, I'd be thrilled with what I'd done, too.

The media will always love the underdog.

Also, why does everyone keep going on about their defensive frailty? They've kept 15 clean sheets and previously average players like Simpson and Perch are in the form of their lives. Ryan Taylor gifted us the 3-1 game earlier in the season but, with Santon in, this one won't be as easy.

Hopefully Tevez' and Aguero's movement will be too much for Williamson, but it won't be easy.

I agree with all you have written there. I have nothing but respect for what Newcastle have acheived this season and it's not going to be an easy game, especially at theirs. We do have the quality though and I'm not feeling too nervous about this one, which is always a good sign.

On another note, I can see United losing today. I don't know why, it's just there.

I have barely noticed any distaste for Newcastle from anyone.

Pardew has been telling people his team are as good as ours. Hopefully he sends them out with that attitude & then it's our job to beat them. If they win, fair enough.

They did let 4 in v Wigan last week, so the defensive frailty is definitely there.

The difficulty is Newcastle pose a real threat going forward. I expect them to give our defense a much harder task than United did.
Their front three of Cisse, Ben Arfa and Ba really is a good one.
Especially with Cabaye pulling the strings and Tiote offering protection.

Having said that we should win.

If they play 2 up front, they have a man less than the rags did in midfield. Ben Arfa isn't great without the ball either. As soon as rags brought on Wellbeck, we started to run straight through them. If we play to win, we should be able to score. IF we play to win.

As others have mentioned, what comforts me is that the Barcodes HAVE to win. Which means no sitting back the whole game.

Ted, I'm not being picky here but I find that statement quite strange. Why would we not play to win, why would we play a game that we must win in any other way?

Anyway, not sure if this has been posted but quite enjoyed Mancini's presser:

Because they have the biggest set of fickle fans in the entire world. Funny how this season no one has mentioned 'Ashley Out!'.
When he brought Pardew in as manager Pardew was actually booed by some supporters.

Now that Ashley has put money forward for Pardew to sign fairly unknown players who have turned out to be little gems not one of the Geordie slags has given him credit for that!! Imagine Coyle going to Gartside and asking for the money to sign Cisse in Jan. He would have been laughed at.

Pardew is believing his own hype with this 'I'll tell City my team now! I don't care! We're Newcastle United!' and I don't like that one bit. But its better for us for him to do this so hopefully he'll try and get his players believing that too.

To be fair, we played for a draw at Arsenal in a game we needed to win. (I know now it turns out we didn't have to but that's because United have gifted us a second chance, doesn't take away from the fact we didn't play to win in a game we needed to.)

Fortune appears to be favouring the brave at the mo. And I was one of them castigating Bert after Arse. Today is more complicated and I wont scream if he plays Nige for Silva or even Tevez. Its not like he's gonna play Park is it.For me Ben arfa is the man to stop. He plays right across behind the front two and Barry on his own might not be enough. Either way its down to the players and the Gods now, the manager and his tactics are largely irrelevant.
