FFS Please stop celebrating

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

FFS Please stop celebrating

Postby Typical City » Sun May 06, 2012 10:18 pm

This is City. I have a Typical City nightmare and I feel sick. Think some people are forgetting who we are and our propensity for screwing up. QPR have some good players and Lez will want to destroy us more than anything. Let's wait a week please. Today is mission 2 of 3 but it's not a forgone conclusion. I've had too much heartache over the years to believe this until it's in the bag. Then and IF, I'm taking a year off work to walk round London in my top with gold badges!

Getting beat by Swansea and losing to Sunderland with virtually the last kick of the game was pretty "typical City" to me. :)
so now as every enemy circles our city

No Typical city is beating united and Newcastle and drawing to QPR, holding the ball in the corner as the evil empire score a winner.

Has anyone ever celebrated winning the lottery whilst waiting for the sixth ball to be drawn? No. Hold the position, spend the week watching old season reviews, remembering the past and celebrate/gloat next Sunday.

I cant understand why people want to be raglike before we we even have a fucking right to any such arrogance.

Seriously, there are some people coming out with shit today both at the game and on here, that are turning into rags before my very fucking eyes.

Calm the fuck down, celebrate next week if and when it happens, please dont spend the next week telling the world what we are "going" to do, instead tell them what you hope we do, and dont make yourselves look:
A) like cunts
B) like arrogant munes

After next sunday, do what the fuck you feel is appropriate

I would never go round telling anyone at work etc that we are champions, but on a CITY forum I'm sure we can say this.

we have a game to play which is crucial to both clubs involved and a competitor sat on the same number of points as us playing a team who are already on the beach?

I know what you are saying mate, but if we needed 1 point from the final 5 games, celebrate away.....even typical city couldnt fuck that up, but we need to beat a team who are playing to stay up. Its far from celebration time, even amongst blues, and as shit as qpr may be.

I, no doubt like you, hope and based on form and talent expect that we should get a result next week. Celebrating is understandable, but we havent won it, so its not ours to celebrate whether amongst blues or in public.

Im not trying to piss on anyones chips, but i just dont understand why anyone would want to jump the gun on this.

My mouth stays shut till next sunday, then, and only then, with the points in the bag and the final whistle blown will i celebrate the title. Not because of typical city, not because of superstition, but because its arrogant and disrespectful to dismiss qpr like that, and until today i honestly didnt think city fans would do such a thing because of their upbringing

Why, is it a fact.....have i missed something today, or do we have a game to play which is crucial to both clubs involved and a competitor sat on the same number of points as us playing a team who are already on the beach?

We have all summer to celebrate if we win the thing, and many good years to come.

I hear what you are saying, I do deep down believe we will do it. I also know football is a funny old game, and true its not over till the final whistle next Sunday. Lets just all believe.

Girlfriend in a coma is one song I wish I'd written although I can't play a synthesiser so I guess it was never meant to be! The last time I was channeling anything I nearly got pushed in on the Dover to Calais but I'll put that down to overcrowding as France only exists to most united fans when they play Lyon in the league of bent gentlemen. I prefer peanut Lyon btw but each to their own.

QPR are no pushovers. They gave us a run for our money in November losing 2-3 to us at a time when we were beating the pants off everyone we met. This is brickshitting time as far as I am concerned, to end only IF we win and the fat lady sings.

I suppose what im trying to say is that there is a game left that we have to win.

It is essentially one game, a cup final to win the league.

As city fans, did anyone start celebrating winning the fa cup before cup final day last year? We may have been overwhelming favourites, but we were rightly wary of stoke and gave them respect. And we absolutley didnt go round celebrating that we were fa cup champions before the cup final had taken place.

Not because of typical city, but for the simple fucking reason that you cant win the cup before playing in the final.

Honestly, the fucking mind boggles sometimes how football fans' minds work!

I think it's because we already know the wall is down, the flag is torn, the empire realises its debt riddled hold can only diminish and the floodgates are open. It doesn't matter anymore; the axis has already shifted, but that trophy would also be nice, it's the alas poor Yorick moment that will define the change of the guard, not just in Manchester but in world football. And, it's our local, little, music, humour and friendship woven club that has achieved it. And that my friends is a very long sentence! :)

89 points in the Prem with one game still to play - that's typical City to me.
