I think it's ten appearances. Could be wrong though.

10 league appearances it used to be

If we win it, does Carlos get a medal, and if so will he be the only player to have a league winners medal for City and U*****d?

Yes, he came on at Bolton, started against Wigan, came on against Chelsea, Stoke, Sunderland, Arsenal and started Brom, Norwich, Rags, Newcastle.
So today was his tenth performance. So he gets a medal if we win it.

They can get them for whoever they want nowadays. It used to be 10 (which I think it still is) but if the club want to 'buy' extra for the lads that have played less then they can and probably will.

Its 10.

The commentators on the scum game mentioned that if they were to win it next sunday tom 'zidane' cleverly would get one because it was his 10th appearance.

So that's why they've not wrapped it up. The best player hasn't been playing.

yeah it seems a bit strange tbh.

What if the backup keeper comes on after the starting keeper is injured and he then saves a 90th minute penalty after playing brilliantly the entire game on the last day of the season to win the title? He wouldn't get a medal.

Fine in principle, but that could mean you have a 25 year old squad player who doesnt feature at all gets a medal, but a 20 year old who plays in 9 games as a playing sub gets no medal because he wasnt named in the squad (doesnt have to be registered due to age)

I think that there has to be some sense that you have contributed to the title, and playing in 25% of the games seems a fair enough benchmark. There will be some cases where you miss out, but the fringe players all end up selling the medals anyway.

Interestingly, just stumbled across an article about blackburn winning league. I didnt know Andy Morrison played for them that season, and missed out on a medal due to only playing 5 games.

No doubt Baconface has passed this tidbit along to Brown, O'Shea, Campbell, et. al.
"Certainly our programme is a full one, but as a player and as a manager I've always felt that there is only one way to go into a season...and that's to try to win every game.... While we are in four major competitions we shall try to win four major competitions." - Joe Mercer
