My mouth stays shut till next sunday, then, and only then, with the points in the bag and the final whistle blown will i celebrate the title. Not because of typical city, not because of superstition, but because its arrogant and disrespectful to dismiss qpr like that, and until today i honestly didnt think city fans would do such a thing because of their upbringing

Spot on for me this.

I feel the same...Im ecstatic but until we have a 2 goal lead against QPR at anytime in the match next sunday, that will be the ONLY time I start celebrating and texting rags etc...till then...shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,,,,,

QPR have some good players and Lez will want to destroy us more than anything. Let's wait a week please. Today is mission 2 of 3 but it's not a forgone conclusion. I've had too much heartache over the years to believe this until it's in the bag. Then and IF, I'm taking a year off work to walk round London in my top with gold badges!

89 points in the Prem with one game still to play - that's typical City to me.

86 points with 1 game to go.

agreed. i might even wait until the papers come out the next day to really believe it's happened and celebrate.

i'm convinced the players won't have some of the same "fuck it we're champs" attitudes that some on here have. Nothing even remotely close yet...we have to win it, to win it. End of story. Still the same as last week, and the week before, and the week before. This is our final cup final i suppose. The players won't have the same irrational exuberance that some of us are wearing on our sleeves, like gold badges apparently.

cheers

We are not champions yet but I celebrated like a bastard yesterday because:

a) Although QPR is not a "gimme", yesterday's match was the last really really tough task facing us
b) Everything is in our hands
c) United for once did not manage to conspire to rack up 7 goals to eat away our GD cushion
d) We look massively on form, the workrate and desire shown by every player yesterday was immense. You can tell how much they all want this. If they play like that against QPR we will absolutely demolish them.

So I am not celebrating a premature "title", I'm celebrating a fantastic win which I know has seriously impacted on United's morale and that of their fans (you could hear it at OT yesterday and all the communication I've had from red mates supports that). We are not there yet but, as I said yesterday, we've now done the really hard yards.

And "typical City" can fuck right off....I've had 30 years plus of that bullshit, it's in the past.

I truly fucking despair at you lot....Try this...try humming the tune first just to get the hang of it. then add the words. Put your hands over your mouths to muffle the words. Keep doing it inn private at first until you get comfortable, and at some point, maybe a month or two after we have won the league, you may be ready to actually sing it out loud:....

"SO NOW YOU'RE GONNA BELIEVE US,
SO NOW YOU'RE GONNA BELIEVE US,
SO NOW YOU'RE GONNA BELIEEEEEEVE UUUUUSS,
WEEEEEE'RE GOOOOONNAA WIIIIN THE LEEEEEAGUE"

Try it....you'll find it feels fuckin great, once you get used to it.

I was leaping round the condo singing exactly that yesterday, was quite gratifying when I put the missus down and shut the fuck up to hear the City fans singing the same thing.

I'm not celebrating winning the league until we actually do it. I am however celebrating being in the position to win it.

Dicks. There was a woman on Northwest tonight outside the ground giving it loads. Even before we beat Newcastle.

There's a god of football sharpening his trident as I write this.

If we needed 3 points from the next 3 games I'd still be a bit nervous, but we need to get 3 points from 1 game. Dodgy sending off in first minute giving them a penalty etc. I'm 99.999% certain we'll win, but that 0.001% is keeping me awake

Totally agree with this topic, mates! Be careful, we waited for so long so I don't understand why couldn't we wait until next Sunday afternoon's final whistle? CTWD!
