City V QPR Build up thread

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Basically, I am milling around like a nervous Zombie. I'll be OK once I get on a nice Beaujolais later, but now is just time wasting, browsing the net, music, looking at my guitar without the motvation to play it, etc. City are wonderful, QPR poor. Why is this so hard to deal with?

It won't matter where you'll be Gillie Mate.

Tomorrow each and every member of our Sky Blue Family will be emotionally linked by that Universal Blue Umbilical cord that will reach from the Etihad to every country, every region, every pub, bar, house, even behind the settees and into the cupboards under the stairs where City fans will be nervously hiding.
...and if this level of emotion continues, even into the effin A & E Depts and Cardiac Wards of Worldwide Hospitals.

It may take a little longer to reach Royton Mate....God'll need to double check his satnav to find it...:-)

My sympathy goes out to those ex pats in foreign outposts who'll be watching, listening, drinking, jumping, dancing, worrying on their own, surrounded by strangers who won't have a clue what is going on emotionally inside.

WE'RE IN THIS TOGETHER MATE...IT'S UNIVERSAL.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

And so it comes down to this.

But it does not.

Whatever happens tomorrow we are going to dominate for the next few and even beyond years.

Our Destiny has been set and there is nothing Baconface,Sky,Platini and the rest of the evil world of football can do about it.

I admit that I am struggling a bit but that is purely down to the fact of what I have seen and felt for the last 40yrs.

It has been a long time coming but the future is ours.

Do you know what the worst thing about having spent these last three years of brilliant City times overseas is for me (...and this may be due to my extreme narcissism). I am peeved that we've won stuff for the first time in my life and I've been unable to get to more than a handful of games obviously but I constantly fret that....if I move home....we'll become shit again.

I fear that the price I have to pay for a successful Manchester City is a lifetime of exile, banished from Blighty's shores for the sake of the sky blue cause.

The funny thing about watching it at my little expat club near my house is that I have fully "infected" quite a few of the local staff who now try to change their shifts so they can be working the bar when City are playing. When we pulled back the third goal to rescue that point vs Sunderland I got up on the bar and lay back under the pumps so they could free pour cold lager straight from the tap into my gullet! I think they've become swept up in the drama and madness of City. I've totally converted my missus and quite a few of my mates out here now definitely root for us as their second team.

I am not nervous for tomorrow but I have a lot of adrenaline pumping about it. I've not woken up later than 430am since the Newcastle match. I've been up working at home by 5am so I didn't wake my bird up.

I'm looking forward to a nice kip...and hopefully something shiny and new

Zabaleta Desperate to be a History Boy

Pablo Zabaleta says City cannot let the opportunity to create history pass them by.

The Argentina international has been an integral member of the side that has won five games in succession and eaten up United’s eight-point lead at the top in the process.

Now Pablo says there can be no let-up in the bid to complete one of the most remarkable Premier League comebacks in history, with one more huge effort required against QPR.

"As a team, I think it's going to be without doubt the most important game we've ever played in,” he said.

“I'm really excited because we're only 90 minutes away from making history for this Club. I've been here since 2008 waiting for this moment; I want to be part of this team who make this Club bigger and more successful.

"We want to do it for our fans who I know have been waiting for a long time.

I've been waiting four years, but our supporters have been waiting 44 years! If we win, it's going to be for them because they deserve the best

While the players are relaxed and focused on their task, Pablo knows it will be a very emotional day for everyone connected with the Club.

The team, however, will remain calm with a difficult game against Mark Hughes’ side still to come and the Blues’ crowd favourite wants to reassure everyone that he and his team-mates will do everything they can to earn the result needed to clinch the title.

“The only thing I can say is that all the players will do their best against QPR and we will do everything we can to win the title,” he said.

“If we succeed, it is probably the start of a new era for this club. We're very close but nothing is done yet, so we'll see on Sunday.”
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

Suspected line-ups from a QPR forum. Helguson is out, which is a plus after how well he played (admittedly vs Savic) last time. No Diakite either as said on here, which is a big loss for them.
