......Just got a phone call from my brother to say that my Dad was nearly killed in a car crash last night. My Dad is a lifelong Blue and he is the reason that I support City. We have been through thick and thin with City and in their greatest moment he nearly died how F7cked up is that.

He was only going to our local Off Licence in Dublin to pick up some celebratory drinks when some F8cking Pikies that were having a race pissed out of their minds crashed into him and some poor woman that was minding her own business's car went on fire. My dad survived and has a broken Collar bone and broken Arm. He said that he had to pulled from the car as he thought that it was going to blow up!

All I can say is WTF!!!!

Hope your father gets well quickly pal! Had a simular thing last week, as YAYA's second goal went in I got a call to say my mother had been rushed into hospital for emergency surgery so what was a celebration went flat in an instant. Hope all's ok!

Apparently my daughter was throwing up all night during the game. And of course I stayed out to watch the game, selfish bastard that I am. Still it did take the edge off celebrations.

Awful when things like this happens. I had a similar experience a few years back when a pillock in his Mrs car decided to race round and didn't see a junction. I'd just returned home from a place that can only be described as hell where by good judgement and skills we all returned safe and sound.

After a 72 hour trip I drove home, met the family and decided to go and get a few bottles to celebrate. On the way back the young lad, speeding at about 50 mph, went straight through a stop whilst I was passing. He was in a little Pug 106 but took the front end off my car and left it, and me, 50 metres down the side street. A little dazed and wondering what happened I stepped out of the wreck of my car and preceded back up the street to see his car planted in the wall of a house with smoke coming from the front. He looked completely in shock so I took him out of the car and placed him with 2 women who'd seen the accident. He was promptly taken to the hospital with a cut finger before the cars were removed.

The worse part of the whole incident was that the Police phoned my Mrs and told her I'd been in an accident to which she comes running up the road trying to find me. I was being interviewed by traffic police so the Mrs couldn't see me but seen the car with no front end, smashed windows and red looking fluid all over around. She was distraught and when I heard her I went racing round to which she collapsed to the floor. Nothing worse than seeing your loved ones hurt.

So yes, it maybe magnificent what we have achieved, but in the end, it's only a game. I know where you are coming from mate and hope your old man makes a full recovery.

That's what my sister just told me. She said that both my Mom and herself went down to the secene of the accident and when they saw the car they feared the worst. They found my Dad in an Ambulance about to be taken off to the hospital still wearing his City Shirt and my sister said that he was mumblin "why after 44 years!" which is actually pretty funny!
