As someone here said, what is the point of developing him if he just leaves?

Remember what RVP was like when he arrived at Arsenal? He was the same age then that Mario is now. Let's give him time to grow up

The point he is making is; what happens when he's grown up ?

There is no point in us grooming him to play for AC Milan. We either sell him or we have to plan for keeping him another 5 years. That means we'll have to sign him up to another deal in the not too distant future, or you can be sure that agent of his will have him away for fuck all & make twats out of us after we put up with all the shit & create a mature player for a free transfer to another team.

Just watching revista la liga and they have stated that barca dont have much money and that they will need to sell before they buy. They reckon a central defender is their priority and Alves is likely to leave.

They also discussed malaga and the fact that the new owners have said they want to start and build gradually and promote from within. However they did say that when things started to go wrong earlier in the season they got the cheque book out. So you never know but would mario want to go to such a racist place?

If mancini can control him better next year then he MUST stay.

Do you really think the current manager and owners would allow a situation where he could leave for free if he turns the potential into reality? If that's the case, why don't we sell Aguero, Kompany, Silva and Hart?

He has 3 years left, so next summer will be sign or sell time.

Yes, I think he'll be given another season to prove himself.
If we could see more of what we saw in his 20 minutes on Sunday, he'll get a new contract.
I'm not sure why we saw a different Mario - effort, teamwork, no whinging, no falling over and no fouling. Whatever it was, I hope he gets the praise he deserves and he realises that's what everyone wants to see rather than some of the stuff he's too frequently dished out for us this season.

Mancini says 101% will stay:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012 ... ty-mancini

Roberto Mancini has performed a U-turn over Mario Balotelli and has insisted the striker will not be leaving Manchester City, just over a month after suggesting he had no future at the club.

Balotelli's mindless red card in last month's defeat at Arsenal prompted Mancini to admit the controversy-prone forward would "probably" be sold this summer, but the manager's stance has softened following the club's Premier League title win on Sunday. Reports in Italy had suggested Balotelli could head to Milan in a swap deal which would bring Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the Etihad, however that has been dismissed.

"Ibra is a great player but I don't think Milan want to sell him," Mancini told Gazzetta dello Sport. "I'm going to be honest, we haven't looked at the market yet. In the last five weeks our only focus has been the league. Mario has been very clear and I reiterate: Balotelli will remain at Manchester 101%."

Balotelli, who set up Sergio Agüero for the 94th-minute winner against Queens Park Rangers which earned City their first league title since 1968, was on Monday named in Italy's preliminary squad for Euro 2012. The 21-year-old was included despite being dropped by the national coach, Cesare Prandelli, earlier this season for disciplinary reasons.

"I am confident he will have a great European Championship," Mancini said. "I hope Mario will be the leader of the national team because he is the best Italian striker. He just needs to make his brain work. That is his only problem."

Would love to see him stay, he'll be great next season.

So he has next season to prove himself a 1st team player & no time to 'grow up' ; he has to do it now & be an adult when he arrives for pre season. That's the point.

The other players you mention don't have a case to answer.

So is the problem that he's only 21 and still does daft stuff, unlike the 25/26 year olds in the squad or that he only has 3 years left on his contract?

For such a young player, what daft stuff has he actually done this year? I mean really done, not just what the press claimed? Gave away a free kick against Lisbon by tracking back? Bad tackle in Arsenal game that should have been red then sent off for a forward's challenge on the full back (one I've seen Tevez make many times)? Sent off wrongly against Liverpool?

Yes the stropping needs to change, but he stays up much more than he did when he first arrived, so just getting on with the game is the next thing to learn. We haven't seen him for a few weeks, so was Sunday anymore mature? Just on the strength of the pass to Aguero whilst on the floor, I'd say yes.
