Reaction from neutrals

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I had best wishes and congratulations from lots of neutrals yesterday. Was very nice to experience considering the media character assassination of our club in the press.

It would be hard to begrudge city the title after our years of pain. In fairness even some of my rag mates gave a genuine well done.

Interestingly I heard some who were anti city changing their tune after we had won. I think this will happen in the media now too.

Regarding new fans, this is inevitable now too, success breeds it. We can be cynical and scoff at the new bandwaggoners or we can welcome them to our project. It will change the dynamics of our support. Whereas before it was hardcore ctid it will now be more like a rainbow (no gay pun intended) of differently committed/knowledgeable fans.

Obviously for most of the match they were supporting QPR but as soon as they found out that they were safe they all started shouting for City. There again this is probably because the local rags are totally obnoxious even for rags - the whole pub erupted when we scored the winner even though there were only 3 of us City fans who couldn't make the game.

Do you live down there? I used to go to the Aviator in St. Ives when I was a student- full of City fans.

Yeah - live in Cambridge. A few of us can be found at the Dobblers if we can't make it to the match. The guys who run the Cambs branch of the supporters club live in St Ives so we're going there on Thursday for AGM + curry (+a few beers, no doubt).

For all the shit leveled at the club by media hacks over the past 2 years, pretty much everything I've read that hasn't come from scum fans in the past three days has been overwhelmingly positive.

Not only is everyone saying it was the great Premiership moment ever, but everyone seems genuinely thrilled that long-standing fans of the club finally made it back to the top.

Having people like Kompany and Hart leading us doesn't hurt, either.

I enjoyed the Michael Owen moment nearly as much as Liverpool fans. All dressed up ready to celebrate having contributed fuck all, then ambles off scratching his earlobe. Fantastic.

The last couple of days were insane. From youtube videos, forums reactions, newspapers and texts, we all have a story about what happend on Sunday. I don't think i have seen something like this in all my life and the fact that happend all around the world, gives it more glamour.

I've seen people who support Barcelona, Liverpool, Sunderland, Ajax, Boavista or fucking Steaua Bucharest, erupt when we won it. These shows how much people hate United, how they hated this sanctification of Filth and Sir Bacon, after Barcelona 99.

As someone said before, we must keep our head down and become loved champions, humble and fair to football.

I'm shocked at reading some of the stuff on here I was under the impression from reading what a lot of our regular posters had written on here the world was full of rag lovers.

No, the media is full of rag lovers.

That's why half the world fucking loved City beating them. And I recon we may have converted a few media twats with the last minute goal.

As i said on the other thread, a thew days ago, maybe, just maybe, they had done what they were told by the papers/tv station they worked for.

As far as what i know/heard, Nicholas Ferguson and Jeremy Darroch, the two people behind Sky, are both rags.
