Not watched him play for a while & his ability is obvious BUT at present, he is nowhere near strong enough physically to be sat in that Nige, Yaya, Barry area. It's a stiff test tonight against the duelling banjo/Darren Fletcher clones as they're all big (and shit) lads. But Premier League players are even stronger.

Long way to go. Suarez on the other hand showed great strength on the ball for a kid & Rekik will be a monster.

He was trying to hold his ground being brushed off the ball by the inbreds in 50/50's in a way you wouldn't see with Nige and Co. Tbf they were also allowed to foul with impunity so that may have had an effect too.

That Utd team, in fact most of their young teams, are throwbacks to the 80's. They just need to find a few young John Fashanu type players.

Haha either way. Danny Welbeck is awkward but there's goals in him. A bit like Fash. Both of them have/had the tendency to look completely awful at times though.

I saw Fash sat in the entrance to WH Smith in the Arndale about 10 years ago doing a book signing. I was watching for about 15 minutes and not one person went to him. It was excruciating. Thank god he has no self-awareness.

They weren't exactly like Barcelona or Ajax youth teams were they?

I'm not sure about Razak. There's something about his movement that makes me feel like future Championship player. And lad, if you read this, I'm NOT trying to put you down. Work your arse off and prove me wrong.

It's possible he was having an off day - even our biggest first team stars have had a few of those. He looked very promising at the start of the season.

I have the horrible feeling that the lad thinks he has made it when the reality is he hasnt .When I first watched him play I thought he was a good prospect and much of that was based on his strength on the ball and his ability to retain possession in the middle of the park.Good awareness of where everyone was and kept it simple.Rarely though can I recall him making key passes or dominating a game in an attacking sense from midfield.

I think the early reports of his loan period were excellent but then they tailed a little and since he came back I have been underwhelmed whenever I have seen him.Too many times I feel he has shown a lack of creative ability and any desire to get foward.I suppose that's ok if the role is a pure defensive midfielder but if that's the case you have to be a bit special at that role.

Mu gut feeling would also be a championship player and that he might get another loan next year to prove himself further.

I think now for a kid to make it at the level we need them to, you will probably see fairly quickly at the level of last nghts game, or lower league games that they are a cut above. Even on the brief glimpses in the first team against lower league opposition (was it scunthorpe), he didnt look any better than the opposition, just looked like a decent kid in an excellent team.

You can see from a midfielder's touch within a few minutes whether they are likely to be good enough, the way they control it, the assurance with which they lay the ball off. I havent seen it from this lad, and its well over a year now since he made his debut.

I imagine he will be caught up by players in the lower age groups though.

Tbf to all the City players though, they were a bunch of lads thrown together, some in strange positions, against a Utd team of big lads, most of whom who play together every week. They were an organised unit with a plan. We were 11 geezers randomly running about. And yet the rags barely got a kick 2nd half.

To be fair to him, he was up against Pogba yesterday who does look a real talent and was the most developed player on the pitch.

When you look at Razak and compare him to the rest on the non academy EDS players we have, he's easily one of the most talented and is only 19 so hes easily worth retaining.

Heard about the disciplinary problems, hopefully he'll realise he hasnt made it yet and what a great oppotunity he has here and will work hard over the next year. I think he has some real ability in there. I'd keep him around for the first part of the season to play pre season, train with the first team day in day out and play in the carling cup again. Then maybe around xmas look to get him out on loan for the rest of the season.
