Please people tell me it was just for one year and that rag twat is on his bike and takes his shitty Jane Fonda videos with him?

The fact that we signed Pizarro to sit on the bench instead of him mid-season was just too funny.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I wasn't having a go at the great Mancini. Far from it.
I'm not actually entirely sure Mancini wanted Heargreaves. I honestly think Mancini wanted De Rossi but couldn't get funds (which was reported at the time) and they just ended up signing Heargreaves as back up of a back up of a backup. And in the end they didn't think he was suited to even that role hence Pizarro.

I believe we are looking for box-to-box midfielder this summer and actually I wouldn't be surprised if De Jong ended up moving. I love Nigel but I think Mancini might be looking for someone more positive on the ball even if he (and I) appreciate what De Jong brings on the table defensively. It also seems to me that Mancini may not fancy Milner much in that center midfield role.

I think you're right about de rossi.

We also still desperately need pace. Aside from aguero, there is a seriously lack of acceleration in the side. Someone with pace to supply the strikers if the bus is being parked.

Once we have both and excellent centre half defensive cover we'll challenge for the champs league imo.

We wouldn't have to pay him too much either. Considering he qualifies for OAP discounts everywhere.

It could be down to whether they've been using the time to get him fit without overdoing it or whether he's just permanently crocked.

I would expect him to be gone by next week, but it's not impossible that he's been a project for the medical staff & they are working on something very carefully because they think they can get him playing regularly.

I doubt he's costing much.

Re DeRossi; imo we could and should have signed him; Bob was dead right. Whoever decided against it almost cost us the league but also gave us the last day excitement, because with DeRossi in the squad we would have had it all wrapped up a month earlier.

Yeah if you call 90k a week OAP discounts at the ripe old age of 36.

Wasn't that as part of a three-year contract, though? I doubt he'd have managed to get a €100,000 per week one year contract extension at the age of 35 in Europe...

I think he'd be worth a gamble as our token oldie on £40-55k, or some kind of pay-as-you play. Him and Bobby haven't worked together before, though, have they? Nor him and Vieira?
