There must be some link in that Mancini has seen Zaba as first choice right back when it came to the crunch final games and I seem to recall Mancini effectively agreeing with Capello when Micah wasnt selected for his squads.The only thing he lacks at times in concentration.

I would say Micah is an excellent full back and 100% a better one than Johnson and Kelly.For me Jones doesnt come into the frame.He might develop into something really good but he isnt there yet.

If the reason for leaving out Micah is lack of concentration, how can anyone say that these people are better in that area ?

The whole thing is grossly unfair imo. None of these are even in the same class let alone better. If they played for us, we would be concerned about our defence in that position every game & rightly so.

the concentration issue have been the framework of Micah development and was certainly the point two seasons ago and, to lesser extent, last season. this season his focus on the whole extent of pretty every game has been total, imho.
I am about 800 miles off Carringhton, thus the least qualified to assess about injuries, but I had the feeling that Micah was carrying aftereffects of the last injury when Zabba climbed the picking order. Once he did, repeatedly, so well, I think it was difficult to withdraw him, also considering that for physical features, Pablo grants a more reliable cover when fast, light wingers are to be faced on the flank. As a huge Micah fan, I was sad not to see him taking part to the last spell of the triumph, tho.

I have always been convinced that Mancini agreement with Capello has just been a though love tactics to keep a young talent challenged (similar to the attitude towards AJ).

All in all, the diriment point of the matter is that made by Ted above: You could see Micah dropped in front of the likes of Maicon, Javi Zanetti (8 yrs ago), [God forgive me] even Ratface at his best times, but the corrent selection is just a pathetic embarassment

Don't disagree that the others are not better than him Ted but I guess the point I am making is that their managers havent mentioned the concentration point when referring to their players.Maybe such comments get picked up by national managers .They certainly do by the media. The only one I would have in the same ballpark as Micah is Walker and he isnt fit!

I doubt Micah has said anything s eriously out of turn but I do think the bottom line is that Mancini rates Zaba as a better defender than Micah.When it came to the final run in of games Zaba was the choice and I don't think injury was part of the decision.
