They were 17th when he took over and they were 17th when by the end of the season saved by dodgy Stoke goal. Them staying up was unlikely because Hughes, not for the first time in his career, only managed to make them worse than they were when he took over.
It's unbelieavable how much some people are willing to STILL change facts for this feller. It seems like manlove for this guy sees no boundaries.
It's also unbelievable that you twist facts in your own sentences.
In your words 17th to 17th.
He might not have saved them, but in what world did he make them worse?
I don't hold any love for him, but it's the but job haters that make a rational person play devils advocate, which is all Doug's comments looked like there.

What the hell are you on about? Doug said he saved them from relegation which is FACTUALLY untrue. How the hell did I "twist" facts? They were 17th whn he took over and 17th when season ended. Now is there something factually incorrect there? Please do point out. They were also further away from relegation zone (three points if my memory serves me) than they were when season ended (one point).
Also, Hughes managed that with Cisse, Taiwo and Nedum in team compared to what Warnock had. Hughes is a poor manager as proven YET again.

That's if he had any in the first place.

I agree, though since they employed Mark Hughes they are obviously lacking sense.
Kept them up which looked unlikely!

Ask Blackburn if they'd have him back.
Why is it this board knows nothing between complete shit and utter legend?
He's clearly not ready to push a title winning side and may never be, but he has some skills that plenty of managers don't.

Point proven.
Reasoned debate checked itself out.

to be fair he just called it like he saw it.
That team would have stayed up with the Manager set on autopilot. Hughes just found a way to make it interesting i felt.
His work at Fulham wasn't fantastic, and he fucked off thinking he had something better lined up, when he clearly didn't.
If "Ask Blackburn if they'd have him back" is the limit of his abilities, then i'd suggest he cling to his current role for dear life. If i were QPR i would have sacked the fucker. How ill-disciplined were that team under Hughes? Warnock would have kept them up i felt.

Don't suck up his arse, it's not cool.
Just sayin
Cheers
Also if having a mid table prem club wish they'd kept you as they over performed when u were there is his best claim, I'd stand by my initial call. He's clearly not shit. Is it 92 teams in the football league? He hovered around 7th to 9th with an average Blackburn side. He bought us some gems too.
He's clearly not complete shit. This is just plain facts. I don't love him, I don't even like him. I just get frustrated at people spouting bollox and passing it off as fact. An average prem manager is a tough gig. A lot don't make it to average.

Sorry, what was their score against us at the exact moment they realised they were safe?
