That someone is Cavani

He's a confidence player. He needs to be the main man and he needs to play week in, week out. He's not going to get that with us because he's not good enough and he doesn't work hard enough.
He's not at the level of someone like Cavani IMO and if we can move Dzeko out and get Cavani in for a net spend of £10Mil it would be good business.
It's certainly going to be interesting to see what happens this summer with our group of forwards. I'd like to see a decision made on Tevez as soon as possible.
Cant see cavani scoring that header against QPR. We need an Edin Dzeko.

Can't you?
He's twice the player in the air that Edin is. I'll always be grateful for that goal but to suggest he's better in the air than Cavani is miles off the mark.
Cavani is far better player with a work rate that puts Edin to shame.

FFS Dzeko brings something different to the table..he scored 19 goals and there and was one of the main reasons we won the premiership.
I dont want him going anywhere...fuck cavani and fuck the rest of the forwards being mentioned.
We only need a mercurial type winger.

I have seen cavani on a few occasions and agree with his work rate, cant say I noticed the aerial ability but if true then its an upgrade.

I like Cavani but he would expect to play a lot more - Edin brought 19 goals to the table, and also wasnt poison in the changing room either. Doubtful if Cavani would settle for spending 50% of the season on the bench.
Other factors must be a consideration here - personally I think we have far more pressing needs elsewhwere and would keep Dzeko, Balotelli and Aguero.

outside of maybe real madrid, do we not have the best cadre of forwards in the world?
we've got some issues with 3 of the 4 for sure, but realistically, they just banged in a shitload of goals and won the league.
An upgrade is an upgrade, but i can tell you whichever new fellas we swap them out for, they'll likely find some issues or challenges as well given that only 1-2 are going to play a match.
Plenty of games to go around, but collecting 3-4 world class or nearly world-class forwards on one roster isn't exactly easy business.
i'd prefer time and money spent on a wide player, cover for Barry and a CB. we nail those three slots and our forward story if it remains the same and no one goes off the boil -- i know, i know, but let's assume they've grown this year and will come out with huge bollocks after winning the league -- we'll be ready to try and defend our keep.
cheers

Didn't we brand Sturridge a mercenary for adopting that mentality?
I think this would vary from player to player. Obviously, people like Bridge and Mills have followed that train of thought, but I'm sure if you asked Santa Cruz or Bellamy, they'd choose the game time.

Only Edin has 2 titels one with small Wolfsburg and u cant compere that two players and score 19 goals and have 7 assist with playing only first parth and some second parth of championship , somhow that isint enough and he is like some second class player who is forever in history of City with that second goal but ok bring Cavani and let him leave i can read this relly stupid comments any more
I put the needs of City first in my thinking, you don't.
You're right though, you can't compare them. One is an immobile, big girls blouse with the touch of a rapist, the other is a hard working, powerful centre forward with top class movement and finishing.
The two players are on a different level, imo.

No, you're problem is that Dzeko comes first, not City. You also have an inability to debate issues on Dzeko without losing the rag, taking things personally and exaggerating.
Talking to you really isn't worth the effort so I'll stop now.
