Second Chelsea Purchase?

Postby Kyle » Fri Jun 01, 2012 3:12 am

Chelsea allegedly agree a deal for Hulk - for 38 million pounds!

Ruining football with those fees! Can't be worth more than 25.

This is absolutely fantastic if true. I mean, I don't like Chelsea strenghtening so much as they will challenge next season and in future but now that we aren't the only players this will take some of the spotlight off of us and maybe normalise our transfer dealings compared to past few years.

I actually think we will be relatively passive this summer because we need to get transfer fees and wages to reasonable level in the future. And apart from midfield and central defense depth we don't really NEED new players anyway.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I couldn't agree more. From what we have seen so far in the transfer market we are approaching it with great calmness, something which in my mind will play dividends in the long run.

just a shit Amir Zaki
Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.

38 million for that fat cunt. If that is their replacement for drogba then they better hope hazard settles straight away and scores 45 goals this season because hulk is fucking gaaaash. Smelly gash with massive bits of dangley bacon.

Hulk = 38 million, Hazard = 32 million, Marin = 6 million. Total 76 million.
Carroll = 35 million, Henderson = 20 million, Downing = 18 million. Total 73 million.

Wages notwithstanding, I know which one I'd prefer.

they've also got kevin debruyne incoming from the belgian league who is rated fairly highly ... deal was done in jan, but he'll be joining this summer. They also bought lucas piazon, who is supposed to be a good brazilian talent and they got marko marin, as someone mentioned.

I disagree with the people who think that hulk is shit. I think he will need to adapt his game a bit for england, but physically he will be a terror for many teams to deal with ... If that opens up defences so that other players score, it's just as good as hulk scoring himself.

big outlay from chelsea this window, and more to come I think ... but they are replenishing their aging squad and I think they will be a force with the right person at the helm. They were hoping that AVB would be a young mourinho clone (I wouldn't be surprised if that's how he was sold to them) and he was just a total wrong fit for what chelsea had at the time. Chelsea will be very strong this coming season.

As mentioned above, if this is true then it is great for us from an FFP perspective. It puts Chelsea in the firing line, if Platini does try to enforce his proposals, as our losses will come down substantially this year due to reduced expenditure on transfer fees, increased revenue from the Champions League and the various sponsorship deals we have signed over the past year.

On a different note though, if Abramovich and his advisers and deciding which players to purchase, then I wonder what any potential incoming manager might think of that? In theory, it sounds great as Chelsea are clearly looking to rebuild but it shows that you really don't have any control at the club (as shown with other managers with the signings of Shevchenko and Torres).

Hands down the biggest fanny I've ever seen take to a football pitch.

He's gonna have to adapt his game fast because if he throws himself about like he did against us then he won't last long in this league. If he does cut out the shite then he could be a very good signing though.

Let's hope he's over the psychological trauma of our mean fans singing 'you're not incredible' at him. Poor little lamb.

Wait until the Euros are over. I strongly believe Dzeko will go and RVP will come in. That will be our big splash. The quietness around RVP is suggestive of something sorted, I reckon.

When it comes down to it these are good players but they are being bought because of their reputation by the fuclin owner. Their is no long term strategy in place from the manager to buy players in certain positions. Roman must be loving this.

Hulk is a whiny little bitch.

Superstar ego on mid table shoulders for my money. He's better than Jo, but if robinho struggled here according to most, this guy will get crucified.

I don't think Chelsea will finish above us next season regardless of who they sign, they finished far too far back last season. Even under Di-Matteo their league form wasn't good enough to have challenged for the title. I'm comfortable with us losing Hazard to Chelsea, I just didn't want him going to the team that came second last year.

I'm starting to get really excited about next season already though, its shaping up nicely already.

Hulk is a little pussy evidenced in the games against us

I'll probably end up eating my words but I can't see him adapting in his first season
