When a Dutch or a Belgian uses apostrophes, it actually has little bearing on reality. They use them for plurals, whereas we use them for possession and abbreviation. When writing in English, it can mean absolutely anything.

If he was writing in Dutch, yes. But in English it's anyone's guess.

For all the talk of Chelsea's dinosaur squad, they've bought/produced some very promising players in the past year or two- Hazard, Piazon, Romeu, Bertrand, Lukaku, Courtois, De Bruyne, McEachran, Chalobah and probably some others I'm forgotten.

Not sure how many of those will make it there, but I can't see the club finishing outside the top four again.

I think they have also just won the FA youth cup again,(I was so proud of our kids when we won that) which says to me their yoyth policy is not as bad as is portrayed.Money gets a lot of things and there is little argument the fuckers have enough.And like Mancio said I don't think that Luiz has been that bad this year.It seems to me the fuckers are getting a team of players together that are coming into their prime a bit like us.

Your adding Hazard to the list of Chelsea's squad, makes impressive reading at first glance, but do you not think that you may be falling into a common trap? Great feet and good players on a list still need so much more to become a team.

How often has the Premier League been won by teams with lesser skilled individual players? The rags have made a great success of this, even last season when their rag tag group still managed to push us to the final 5 minutes.

I don't know how this plays out in other European leagues but team spirit, grit, determination, the refusal to lose games, selflessness in the cause of the team, over a long and arduous physical English season are very much necessary qualities of a successful Premier League team.

No matter how good Hazard seems to be, the recent public behaviour and comments of him and his agent would seem to cast doubt on his attitude.

Off Topic a bit here but why do people keep referring to the league as 'Last Season'? John mentions it again there but for me it is still current, the new season doesn't kick-off until August so this one must still be current.

Just being pedantic as it reminds me of Rags trying to get over the loss of their top spot, by talking it up as last season it puts another spin on their loss. Like it never happened.

It may also have something to do with the fact that we are on the rise. Knowing that in the not too distant future we will be challenging for more gives us fans more forward thinking perhaps. If we were on the decline I would imagine us lingering more. Even the players were forward looking in their post-match QPR interviews...

Regardless, it will not take away the fact we are Champions!

I agree absolutely on that a bunch of great feet and good players takes time to gel into a team, often all the Leagues, pretty almost worldwide, are won by lesser skilled individuals with greater team spirit, grit, determination, etc.

I am not, by no means, a personal fan of Hazard, I do agree and I wrote above that at least he has allowed his agent to conduct his public image in a very arguable way, I am just convinced that if we had the opportunity to acquire his service, it would have taken not a great deal to either the Bob and Team mates to put his head on the ground with a huge benefit for both (pls refer to Ted's posts on the original threads for a more eloquent dissertation of the technical point)

Chelsea agree terms with Lille for the transfer of Eden Hazard
Chelsea have agreed a fee with Lille for Eden Hazard. The Belgium international has also agreed personal terms and passed a medical and and will complete his move for a fee believed to be in the region of £32m once pre-season training begins next month.

"Chelsea Football club is delighted to announce we have agreed terms with Lille for the transfer of Eden Hazard," a club statement read. "The 21-year-old Belgian international has agreed personal terms with the club and today passed a medical examination. He will join the club in July when the players return for pre-season training."

As Chelsea were preparing to announce Hazard's signing, the player was giving an interview to French radio station RMC, where he revealed his reasons for choosing to join them. The Blues reportedly won a bidding war for his services and are said to be paying him around £170,000 a week over a five-year contract. Manchester United and Manchester City had been favourites to land the Ligue 1 player of the year, but Chelsea's surprise Champions League triumph turned his head.

"When they won the Champions League I told myself, 'Why not Chelsea?' Hazard said, revealing he also felt he would get more game time at Stamford Bridge. "There was a struggle between Chelsea and United but, for me, Chelsea has the best project. "The team is young and I have a better chance to play there."

I have been saying this all along, he went to where he knew he had no real competition. Not comparing him to AJ, but I suspect until he proved otherwise, that is the kind of role and playing time he would have had to start. And we don't have to pay any more money for AJ.
