That's better than my 14 year old. He is a Real Madrid fan and is obsessed with Ronaldo and Xabi.

Fair play to your lad for recognising the brilliance of a player like Xabi Alonso. Most kids that age just idolise the more glamorous players like Messi. He must know his onions.

I remember when we signed Eyal Berkovic - I was 16 at the time. The first time I saw him play for us I was sure he was the best player I'd ever seen in a City shirt, Kinkladze included. I was in a minority who thought he was better than Ali B. I still believe that, on sheer technical ability, he's in the top ten players to pull on the shirt in my lifetime.

He also lit the place up after years of watching dross midfielders (Ian Bishop aside) who looked at the ball as though it was from another planet, much like Elano briefly did when he arrived a few years later.

This is a rubbish post. I've failed to make a single coherent point. Ah well.

I'm back in the States for the next few weeks. If anyone's watching any Euros matches in downtown Philly, gimme a shout.

I'll also be spending the odd day in NYC and I've been trying to get the missus to take me to Miami for years, so maybe that will finally happen. I'm going to Atlantic City and Baltimore for a couple of nights too. I'll post in here every time I move.

I think I'm in AC between 24-26 June but I'll get back to you on that. And we'll definitely meet up for the Euros. I like both Fado and the Black (Dark?) Horse. Hope you and the missus are well.

If you're in town and are looking for suggestions on what to do in Baltimore, let me know. Lived in or around Baltimore pretty much my entire life, so I can tell you where those best crab cakes ever are located.
