Champions league win put him back in the mood perhaps?

He's either shopping from a list given to him by someone they can't confirm as manager right now OR he's playing fantasy football/real life 'Football Manager' while still high from their Chump's League win.

Take out Messi and Ronaldo and from what I have seen there are very few players out there who are going to make a dramatic impact on a league of mainly well organised teams like the Prem.Van Persie may be one if he can stay fit but he hit a lean patch at the end of the season and may repeat it.If you watched our goals of the season wouldn't you fancy all our strikers, including Jonno who scored some crackers, but only Aguero was an unreserved success.Dont tell me hulk is suddenly gonna start lashing them in, judged by his performance v us. Teams have to be built and thats the main trick, at which Bob's doing ok.He's making sensible noises in my view and I think was right to reject Hazard who looked like a poor man's Ben Arfa to me the other night. The same five teams will contest the Prem next season but if Bob gets the balance right between building and adding, I'll still fancy us against what I've seen of the oppos plans and transfer strategies.Atleast Bob is making the plans, not the owner. He looks to be in a happier position re control, strategy, finances than any of the others, including Bacon.Morover he knows what we need after two and a half years of development. For example, if we add width we can stick with Dzeko, if not twist. He can look at Tevez in pre season and check his attitude from his girth. He will get a good idea from the Euros whether Ballo will ever be sane enough or Milner good enough.Anyway, atleast we wont be buying a Santa Cruz.

when i was in Nyon today with my mate, Platini was very angry saying chelski's outrageously expensive puchases in the transfer market just reinforces his determination to have Man City found guilty in breaching the ffp rules. City are to blame for this

I think Marin will be a success in the Prem. He will cause a lot of defenders a lot of problem.

Potentially...if he plays. With Ramires, Lamps, Mata, and now Hazard above him in the pecking order...and maybe
even Meireles...he could be playing very little in that midfield..especially if RDM (or whoever) uses Mikel or Essien
as a holding midfielder. They've got a lot of talent ahead of Marin in that midfield...and if they sign Hulk he is sure
to play "on the wing" like he did for Porto when they had Falcao at the top, only further occupying a spot that Marin
could've filled if he wasn't so far down the order.

Even tho I don't know what holding midfielders have to do with Marin (he's a pure winger & struggles anywhere else, even in the hole), you're spot on about the competition on the wings. Hazard, Mata, Sturridge, Ramires, Malouda, de Bruyne, potentially Hulk & who knows who else...
Marin's tiny, a horrible diver & performed well below par in the last 1½ seasons or so. If he doesn't step up (& change) his game, he'll be lucky to start a handful of games in the league. Could be a decent sub to shake up tired defenders & win (cheat) a penalty in the dying minutes mind. A bit like AJ - without the goals.

Yeah. I meant, if RDM or whoever uses Mikel or Essien then that automatically reduces the midfield spots to 4. Mata, Lamps, and Hazard are sure to be 3 of them..and Ramires probably the 4th. If the manager puts Lamps in a "holding role" then the spots open to 5, meaning there's one open spot where Marin could potentially play.
