Tevez - Should he stay or should he go now?

Postby Patrick » Wed Jun 06, 2012 12:39 pm

I was just reading an article that he is now very happy in England and whilst it remains he wants to end his career at Boca he would like to stay with us at the moment

He is out of contract around July 2014
Standing in the Naughty Corner since 1961

I voted NO. I will not have my affections toyed with. Yes, he came back and helped us but he shafted us at a crucial part of the season and he could do it again. I will trust Mancini's judgement on this but I am sure he will want him gone now.

If Mancini wants him to stay I hope he stays and I think the players (the majority) would want him around.

we won the league without him for the most part, even when he came back he made little contribution. I'd let him stay but I wouldnt rely on him, he'd be a sub for me until he proves his loyalty and ability again.

As Doug said, if Mancini and the players want him then as far as I'm concerned he has a place in the team. He made a big difference in those last few games and I would like to see that continue next season.

Football is fickle and so am I. I want the little cunt to stay as he's a fantastic player when his head is in the right place.

I voted NO

he is a professional football player, that's his job, therefore he should want to play football
to refuse that at any stage of your career is not only ridiculous, it's unforgiveable imo
even if he scores 100 goals for us in the next two years

he's lucky he did just enough in those last games to help us win the title
if we wouldn't have won it, he would be the first man on my 'responsable list'

it doesn't look like he's going anywhere at this point but I feel we should get rid of him sooner rather than later
no one can question the ability carlos has but other things matter too

He made little contribution????? He completely changed the dynamics and creativity of our team with him on the pitch. Let us not forget the hat trick. To say he had little contribution since he came back to me my man, would be like the people who think Yaya doesnt bring much to the team because he doesnt net 30 a season.
I think he proved his ability and will be our starter with Sergio, with some combination of Dzeko or Balo.

He should stay. Practically unreplaceable mix of talent and effort, plus he's learnt our system. As Bob said:

Despite those views, Mancini doesn't expect his players to be perfect. He maintains that although you can win with strong players, you cannot win with angels. Just as well, with the likes of Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli in your team. So how does he get the balance right? He laughs. "I think you have to have angels who sometimes become son of bitch."

I voted yes - but im slightly ashamed with myself - looks like my principles of 3 months ago got polluted somehow

The thing is - when he plays well - he is on par with the best in the world - and the thought of him and Aguero playing well together makes me cream my shreddies

I wonder what his relationship is with that cunt of an agent is at the moment?

Come to think of it what about Yayas cunt of an agent - hes gone quiet all of a sudden

I've always wanted him to stay and behave himself. He is a great player.
But I think if RVP was available, perhaps Handsome Carlito should be the one to make way.
So 'maybe' from me.

I've voted yes.

Purely football reason's it's a no brainer but I'd still get rid if we could, for obvious reasons.

The problem is, if Tevez really does want to stay & after persuading him there's no animosity, we try to force him out, he could become seriously disruptive, fat & useless & just sit and refuse to sign for anyone, take his money & go shopping etc (like Bridge) until his contract runs out. For that reason, I think we need to let him stay if he wants to.

Tevez 'very happy' at Man City
June 6, 2012
By ESPN staff
Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has said he is happy with life in England after a season dogged by uncertainty over his future.

Tevez, 28, spent five months of the season in self-imposed exile after a dispute with City manager Roberto Mancini but returned to play a role in City's Premier League triumph.

Back in Argentina, Tevez told an event organised by his former side Boca Juniors that his situation in England is now much improved, but also said he hopes to end his career at the Bombonera.

"My biggest wish is to finish my career in the Boca shirt," he told FoxSports. "I am still thinking the same as when I left - I want to retire here. I am here for whatever Boca need.

"But the truth is that I finished the season very happy in England. I am feeling good, I have no desire to be thinking that I want to leave, my family are happy."

The Argentine forward did, though, risk criticism in his homeland for comments about the national team, telling the audience he was quite happy be outside manager Alejandro Sabella's plans for the time being.

Tevez said: "I did not miss the Seleccion. I was happier watching from outside. I liked the team, but for now I do not want to be there. When I am called I will be there, of course."

It's a yes from me. Despite everything that's happened, when he returned to the team, I remembered how brilliant he is.

What he did during the season was completely out of order, but it's clear that the players like having him around and him and Mancini have buried the hatchet. We were superb for most of the season without him, but he played a big role in the last part of the season by adding an extra dimension to our play.

I'd be quite happy for him to stay for another 2 years, see his contract out and go back to Argentina to finish his career with Boca.
