England to win the Euros

Not a wind-up, not a PWP, just a very strong and inarticulable inkling.

Let the piss-taking commence!

Dont be such a cunt.

We could, in fact be very organized and boring as fuck and win it, i will grant you that - as you dont need the best players to beat spain as capello proved, and as Chelsea proved recently.

It will need a fair bit of luck, and with luck on our side we have just as much chance of winning it as anyone else, but it will be horrible to watch

I'll take that. We certainly won't out-Spain Spain. We need to be high-tempo, strong and up 'n' at 'em. Carroll is the key.

mmhh.... Does yr inarticulable inkling go thus far to sense a scouse1 bid for next PL title, Mate?

National Teams championships are almost all about which side find a fine string of form and good luck for a fortnight, so You might even find Yourself spot on, tho...

Italia, as pained as they are, has a much better chance as "THE" dark horse candidate.

England. Quarterfinals. PKs at best, a mauling at the worst.

That is all.

cheers

I honestly think this night be Netherlands tournament.

Spain may be short of a goalscorer this time around and if you add rvp's fine form to the 2010 efficiency this could be Hollands time.

Yep, i agree to, i think Holland will win it. It might be the last chance with this generation and if you ask me, they really deserve it.

At first i was convinced the germans will win it, but after that game with the swiss, my hypothetical money are on the dutch.

Fuck me, but i a would want a surprise there. Maybe Ireland, who knows.

The biggest obstacle with the Netherlands is their group stage. They don't have a good record against Portugal and the last time they had that 16 yellow/4 red cards match. I found on wiki that ever since Germany became unified, they have never beaten the Dutch in a competitive match.

If, however, the Netherlands gets out of the group stages, they should be able to get all the way to the final, then again, I remember seeing them humiliate France and Italy and then get knocked out by Russia.

I think France could be a dark horse. They have been steamrolling the last few games, so certainly think they've got a chance. They're certainly a lot better than they were back in 2010.

I'm going with Germany for this one
the time seems right for them, with a lot of young players getting the needed experience at top level the past few years and villa's injury might come back to haunt spain
and surely all those bayern players cant survive being second in any other competition

so I'm tipping Germany but 4 teams are capable of winning the tournament I think: Germany, Spain, Netherlands and France
maybe add Russia as the surprise package

England won't be pretty to watch, but Hodgson knows he doesn't have a very talented squad and he will get his team well organised in the first place
and playing well organised at least makes you difficult to beat
it might be the difference between a 1st round exit and getting to the quarters
I think England will stop in the quarters, but I wouldnt say it's impossible to get to the semis or even further, it just wont be pretty to watch

I wouldn't be too surprised to see England win it. Expectation is off them for first time since I can remember.

It's a really open tournament, 5/6 teams could win it. I'll be backing whosoever of these is the biggest odds eg Russia 22/1

The Dutch defence is too weak to make it all the way. I reckon they will do well, maybe even to the final, but sooner or later they will be punished because of it.

I have Germany down as winners. They have a very young, and exciting team, but it's full of class: Kroos, Reus, Pigfucker, Götze, Özil ... And you just know that one of their strikers (most likely Klose) will have a purple patch and score for fun.

My dark horse is France as well. If they will click, they have a great team.
