I would 'love it' - tremendous commercial acumen and is passionate about the club
We seem to have lost a bit of momentum since he departed and with FFP looming we must address this.
If we can accept Tevez back surely we can invite Cook back
I would prefer this to any number of high-profile player signings
I find this delusion funniest of all.I think the Vincent going to Vietnam video seems to suggest our marketing is going fine.He says in the piece we are where we are without him.He did what he was paid for if that makes you money men think he was something special then it seems your in disagreement with the people who sacked him.
You do seem to have some extreme views on a range things - but you are blue and on a forum so that is absolutely your right.
I equally have a right for my views and it would seem that they are shared by a majority - so I do think that you are OTT to suggest that my views are 'delusional'
A video - Vietnam ? I wonder when the interactions began to establish contacts over there? I wonder who was the initial catalyst - in Cook's era ? neither you not I know. I would though not suggest that in 2012 a video / trip of the captain of the PL winning team should be seen as a major marketing accomplishment - pretty low hanging fruit I would think.
But what we do know is the massive growth year on year in our turnover under Cook's stewardship and the establishment of significant relations with the MCC and the capture of significant major sponsorships. Without this the cartel that drive UeFA may well have been successful in stopping our growth - either way his commenrcial success is (to us money men) highly impressive
We also know that he had a role (medium or major) in bringing the Sheik to our beloved club.
Star players come and go but I would put no signing ahead of Cook in regards to the importance of our club when we look back in years to come.
After 46 years of supporting CITY and being a season ticket holder for longer than most on here have been around – I recognise Cook as one of the most pivotal people to have been involved with CITY – and, as a fan, I admire his passion for our club.
For me he is one of a very limited group of people that have bought to the club that I am obsessed by a level of enjoyment and success that I had written off ever occurring in my lifetime – so yes I see him as greatly enriching my own life.
Holding him in such high-esteem is a right that I have – you of course have a right to your opinions
