I have a sneeky feeling as well that we are going to do well, not necessarily win it but progress far further than expected ... low expectation is a novelty for England that I feel could help the side in a weird way ... we'll find out soon enough

Thinking livergland will be able to overcome any of France, Spain, Germany, Holland or Italy is bonkers but thinking that England will get past 3 of the above 5 teams to win the competition is fuclin NUTS.

I cant see past spain or germany and ze germans are my bet (just)

I think we need to see if Roy's mid table style grafting works v France, or whether England get turned over. If it works v France then England definitely have a chance. If France rip holes in it, then the whole tournament will most likely end in comedic humiliation.

I think England look like a team. Not a good team, but a team nontheless. Like an international version of Everton; simple but effective. If they can manage to stifle teams, they definitely have a goal or two in them & could shock quite a few. If they can't keep it tight however, they are completely, utterly, fucked.

There always seems to be some unfancied team that comes from the pack and surprises everyone by making an impact: Greece, Czeck, Turkey, Denmark. Maybe Russia or Croatia?

England, both tactically and technically, are so unmitigatingly poor that we can only regard ourselves now as one of the "minnows" of world football (irrespective of what the FIFA rankings might say).

All we can do is 'park the bus' in every game and hope for the best, as well as whatever lucky breaks might come our way. Thus, by making ourselves hard to beat, we might just avoid being humiliated in every game. It's all about damage limitation.

As for the winners of the tournament, I'll go for my favourite International side - Italy - as always.

Rightly or wrongly, I'll be rooting for them again this year.

But the difference is that now we have no decent attacking players whatsoever & no decent creative midfielders whatsoever, the dreadful shite, unimaginative, piss poor football we play actually suits the players we have got.

I'm going with Germany....if not them, then Holland...if not them, then France.

Golden Boot going to RVP...or M. Gomez.

I drew Spain in the sweepstake at work so they're definitely not going to win it.

Spot on - we have no choice but to play the way we do....parker will just have to do 360,s all the time and hope the opposing players get dizzy watching him and bore them to sleep.
