That is a player i would love to see wearing a City shirt. One of the best box-to-box players that are out there, maybe the second in the world after Yaya and a leader on the pitch.

+ i don't think will cost that much.

His contract expires this year or has he signed an extension?

I have no idea

This might be a source, but i don't know how reliable : http://www.goal.com/en/news/15/germany/ ... -year-deal

Thanks mate.

looks as if United is about to snap up BVB's leading scorer, Lewandowski, as well....

(and Lukasz Piszczek may go to RM..my god BVB is getting poached)

We don't get the german league here any more so I haven't seen him for a while. The last time was the Asia Cup when everyone was creaming themselves over Honda in the Japanese team. But Kagawa was the real creative spark. He looked quality then and I doubt he will have got any worse since.

I'm going to go completely against this post. Kagawa played for Japan against Australia and played well. Really well. He's going to be a good prem player. However, last season in the Bundesliga he won only 40% of his one on one challenges. He got found out a bit again tonight. Nigel is going to own him. Looks good going forward, I question him in defence.

Honda was absolutely outstanding tonight and the best player on the pitch by far. He's got chumps league experience too. Well worth considering.

Hey Tokyo, how bad was the ref??

alan wilkie. Which is about as bad is it gets.

Honda did play well, I agree.

Sadly on the evidence of that performance the Australian team looks completely devoid of skill and flair. I watched the match hoping for some entertainment but what I got was one team trying to play football but being too wet for their own good and the other a throwback to the days of Graham Taylor's Watford, Dave Bassett's Wimbledon and Howard Wilkinson's Sheffield Wednesday. Sad to see because high balls are not the only way to beat Japan.

A decent point for Japan, though it would have been three but for "mister wilkie".

Given that the group also contains Oman and Jordan, I suspect both teams will qualify with iraq in the playoff though I was surprised to see Australia only drew with Oman. Could be costly.

That was Hidetoshi Nakata. But he did have the handicap of being managed by sam allardyce.

They also had Akinori Nishizawa. Anyone who had seen him play could have told you he was shit and only there to sell shirts.

Park did well at the filth for a few years. He is clearly no Messi but at last he was in the team on merit. To be fair very few players of any nationality "set the Premiership alight". I take it you didn't like Jihai Sun that much then.

Can't argue with any of the above - not a lot of confidence surrounding our national team in these qualifiers. We were hamstrung by the ridiculous red card, but the first half wasn't any better. Incredibly lucky to get that penalty from an awful referee.

Honda was the stand out for me too. Nagatomo reminds me of Kolarov - as soon as he got into the attacking third he'd just blast the ball to no one.

High balls appeared to be the only option once our bald headed defensive midfielder Marco Bresciano went off. (he was in the process of tearing you a new one before his injury.)

A shame that we resorted to that but it was working.

Totally forgot that BVB bought Marco Reus.....that makes losing Kagawa not so bad.
Now they have to keep their 3 Poles and center back pairing and they'll be poised for a 3 peat

Never heard of him. What I have heard though is that Taggart has already had his influence and he's out of the Olympic team.
