Kenyan Midfielder We Tried to Sign Few Years Back?

Postby Niall Quinns Discopants » Wed Jun 13, 2012 1:48 pm

I'm having a blackout. What was the name of that feller. Had deal agreed and all but couldn't get work permit.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I think I know who you're on about. Did he end up going to Italy. Parma maybe? Had like an English first name and an African surname?

Mariga. Been on loan twice to Racing and Parma. ...Too slow to the draw.

Looks lucky we missed out on him doesn't it but not nearly as lucky as missing the transfer deadline on Gago. Gago deal was happening, time scuppered it!

He would have cost 20 million then... 5 million at best now...

I never rated Gago much.
This Mariga feller however looked dominating in Parma. Has dropped off the radar bit but I don't think he would've necesserily been a flop.

Perhaps, the lad certainly seemed to have the physical attributes to be a successful prem midfielder. I guess we'll never know.

Just like we will never know if Mark Bresicano and Steve Sidwell would have been hits at City. Both very very close to being city players.

Ahhh what could have been...

I had to wait till i got home an hour later though to give my acount.... Even though I think i text BMD and KK at the time.
