I know.

He was. First half he did nothing but slipping, falling over, running into defenders ...

It only takes that one moment of 'magic' ;-)

Yeah, Torres sure has been class.

Looks good, once Big Dave sets him away. Is that 2 assists and a goal for Dave, 2 goals for Torres?

Started a bit iffy but for all the wonderful tippy tappy of Iniesta & Xavi, stuff happens around Silva more than both put together.

Keane laying into the Irish team on ITV talking about 'attitude' etc; what the fuck does he expect from that group of players ? Even if they'd got a draw v Spain, they'd just get battered by Italy. It's a below average group of players, end of. They are used to playing lump it football for poor league teams & getting beat. They were playing Spain ffs.

His answer; put Darren Gibson in there to 'put his foot on the ball'. Imagine Gibson trying to play tippy tappy with Keith fucking Andrews with 6 Spaniards charging at them ? Fucking knobhead.

I thought Robbie Keane was one of their worse players, just like his name-sake.

He was. Dunney was just as I remembered him too.

A likeable chap Dunney but as a footballer, well I am forever in the debt of Sheikh Mansour for removing the sheer horror of watching that pie headed, baby elephant lumping the ball to our opponents, missing headers, scoring own goals, giving away pens & generally being just fucking terrible to watch, week in week out. I will be forever in debt to the Sheikh for that.

I loved Dunney (post piss-up) and Distin for many years. Did I complain at the time - did I fuck! No problems from me at the time, I knew where we were.

it was a really fantastic display...so effortless. i was with a few folks watching it in a hotel bar and everyone kinda let out an "oooooohhhhhh" when he did that. How goddamm lucky are we?

3 City players scoring goals. Surely that has to be the most in the tournament? Muchen have had...two maybe? i can't count. I'm too lazy to look. Regardless, City...in the famous words of Darren Dazbeh "Yay!"

I agree with Beefy. In a way, after he quit drinking Dunne was never worse than we deserved and not seldom a class above were we were as a team.

I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Dunne and Distin were one of the better defensive partnerships in the league. Those two with James playing in goal were what kept us in the league.

V.dissapointing result and performance, doesnt help when we make 3/4 mistakes in the build up to each of their goals, we have handed all goals conceded to the other team. but credit to spain they would of beat us no matter what we did.

Trap also got his team and tactics wrong but as i said would make no difference, we would of lost with 15 players on the pitch.

I think alot of people are forgetting how important Dunne was to us at the time, the 3(or was it four?)player of the years in a row should tell us that. Its easy to sit back now with billions in the bank and a premier league trophy under our arm and criticize him saying how bad he was for us and that he is shit but if it wasnt for him we likely wouldnt be where we are today. He is a city legend in my eyes. I would of thought he would of got a bit more respect from city fans.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The team might be shit, but this is something that I will remember

4-0 and singing like that in unison. Even that German commentator said very little. I know our English commentators also mentioned how they were impressed by their singing.
Genuinely impressed by this, especially after the whole Poland v Russia debacle.
