That was hard to watch last night but what happened was what many of us feared would happen. As always the Irish supporters have been brilliant. Being in the Euros has given our country a lift for a week and God knows we've needed it.

I think alot of people are forgetting how important Dunne was to us at the time, the 3(or was it four?)player of the years in a row should tell us that. He is a city legend in my eyes. I would of thought he would of got a bit more respect from city fans.

No point in lying about it. I hated watching him & I said so regularly at the time. The fact that we had lots of other shit players is true but most of them were replaced whilst he was still there year after year, tripping over his own feet, missing key headers, giving away pens, scoring own goals & being voted POTY because nobody else was remotely popular. And he was excellent for one season, possibly the best CB in the country; absolutely true. Unfortunately, it didn't last.

Surprisingly, Villa are now the worst team in the country at defending corners.

F***g moron Prandelli, on second attempt, this time succeded to bottle it big time.
How the hell, when you are a decent manager, you can figure out to scrap a result by taking out the only target CF Italy have in their roster!!! In fact, as soon as Mario was withdrawn from the picth, the Italians have been pushed back by a pacey and physical side as Croatia is, and that tactical mindset is just the Chiellini incident waiting to happen.

Also, my kind Mate Mikhail Chigorin, whose presence I've been missed on the last days, would have noticed why Chiellini is not a stuff good enough for the Best Club in Your land and the whole world... :-)

Now, thanks to a manager more concerned about the political correctness within the dressing-room rather than delivering results, an almost surprising (to me at least) Italy side, must have to batter Ireland and hope for fairplay by Spain.... typical spaghetti, ffs.

But they were the best in Dunne's first season and only became shit last season when Mcleish got his hands on the team and dunne spent a large chunk injured.

It was a ridiculous decision. Balotelli was the main 'out' ball & the whole gameplan was ruined.

Dunne had a brief spell where he upped his game & was alert & then settled into the comfort zone of mediocrity which he settled for at City year after year; not quite 100% fit, lapses in concentration. When he signed for Villa, you could see he was lean & hungry, to prove a point. Now he's back to what he was. I hated watching him & I'm delighted he's gone. Watching him stumpling around like an ox last night brought back just how much I hated watching him so I posted it.

I'm sorry if that offends people but it's how I feel. I really think he is truly fucking awful & he makes me cringe.

Mate, if Spain and Croatia will draw with a scoresheet from 2-2 and above, Italy will be out upon the rules on goal scored on direct ties. irrespectively of how many goal Italy will score against Iraland, which however is an average side insofar single technical skill is concerned, but they also always show neverending spirit and pride for the shirt, thus it wont be as easy going as everyone can expect, particularly for a very speculative side like Italy is.

Cassano is a very skilled player, no doubt, but he does not have 95' minutes in his legs, so if you want bring on the scoring attitude of di natale, Cassano should be the first man to be taken off.

Luckily for Italy, Spain won't want to risk losing to Croatia so will go all out for a win.

On another subject, Owen Hargreaves is interviewed on the Talkshite website & for someone with a keen interest & big connections with German football, he mentions the centre backs as being a possible weakness defensively in the German team.

First Irland i daubt that park the bus to Spain would work , second Croatia is team who dont go well against bether technical sides so i think they cabt go well against that tika taka play becose they will try to tika taka with them and that is the worst thing to do against Spain olay their game and Croatia have bad defence slow , So i think Italy will go trougth the funy thing is that Italy is the only team in this group who will have problem to beat Ireland :)

I thought Hummels was outstanding v Portugal but the way he lost Van Persie v Holland was worse than anything Savic did. Still question marks there.

Ukraine have dangerous forwards as do Sweden, so it would be foolish to rule them out. I would expect France to give their defence hell though (but you never can tell with the French).

With England, I don't know what they are yet. They were a solid team v the French but now v Sweden they have to score goals. Can they ? People take the piss out of Andy Carroll but I don't think there's one centre back in this competition who would be keen to mark him. Possibly he may play tonight, so England may look different.

Fancy Sweden to score, so England must.

Yeah i agree abaut second game and Van Persie but that is normal to have few mistakes but i didnt see major weeakness in Germany defence us for French u are wright u never know how they play u only know refere will help them us much they can on Euro , they are weak at the back Mexses and Remy are shit from the games i watch , England is complet mystery for me to the Menager to not invate Micah Parker in first 11 i dont know they can go either way but i can see England go all the way , Ukraine is a good team or Sweden is bad or have bad day in office we will see today , i predict one suprise.

Dave's goal yesterday was such a beauty, he can make it look so simple

Dunney didn't look good especially for the first goal but he didnt get much help
he was expected to go in for the tackle, win the ball and make a good clearance
after making the tackle he should have reacted quicker but his teammates just left him alone against 2 spain players

I still very much respect what he did for us
I've seen him play some terrific games in a City shirt, I especially remember a home game vs the rags and the scouse when his defending was top notch, not giving the opponents striker any space and always being in the right position
he might lack the talent to do that on a regular basis and he's been incredibly unlucky with all the own goals but despite his flaws for me he'll always be a good defender for a mid table premier league team
he's here, there & everywhere!

ofcourse as a club we have progressed now and it was the right move for him to leave when he did

while Spain was very good last night, Ireland fans were simply FANTASTIC

If they have done their homework, they will let him win the ball and let him shoot. More chance of Hart being on target from his own box.
