Which Striker Does Bob Really Really want?

Postby Piccsnumberoneblue » Sat Jun 16, 2012 2:59 pm

RVP? Benzema? or any of the others mentioned?
I have a gut feeling it's Cavani.
Tevez the man he wants shut of.
I'd be happy enough with that.

Whaddaya reckon?

I reckon his first choice is/was RVP, but if that doesn't come off I reckon he will want a move for Cavani as a close 2nd choice.

Van Persie is the one he wants IMO.

If it is anyone other than RvP then I would say that the only possible striker departure will be Edin. If we signed Van Persie however I could see us definitely selling Dzeko and being prepared to talk about deals to sell Tevez.

If we can't get Van the man I can, however, just see us just sticking with what we have and concentrating on bringing in width and pace to give us another dimension for the attacking resources we have

Aguero and Tevez have done well together, that should continue.
RVP had a great season but he's never been that good before and i don''t think he'll be as good again.
Dzeko will go.
Maro wll finally put using his talent before being a tit.
Bring in Guidetti.

Look at the impact Tevez had when he came back! He has to stay, he drops deep and gives Silva even more space than he previously, magically made for himself. That gives Aguero the opportunity to run into the channels and receive the balls from Silva and Tevez. Dzeko doesn't have the pace for the way we play, but if we get width we could just swing the ball in and he'd be very affective, like in the QPR game!

I just don't trust Tevez. But there isnt anyone better or more proven around at the moment. He and Van Persie (from last season) are pretty much even, but we all know about Van Persies record. Plus he's a twat.

Tevez is better than Cavani.

I think RVP, because he has Premier League history, while Benzema and Cavani are a gamble.

I don't trust RVP, like many of you because of his injury. On the other hand, i would rather have Tevez, than Mario, simple as that. Bobby will do a mistake if he decides to stick again with him. We will have the same scenario since he came here, score some goals, get some reds, the usual.

Benzema would be the man for me, expecially if Ibra will go to his new friend Mourinho!

If his head is right then keep him and Aguero.

Im with you on this LB2.
If Tevez wants to stay then he must,do not sell FFS,i'd sell Dzeko and Balo in a heartbeat.

I have always been a fan of Carlito's, But I'm afraid he is damaged goods.
I think Bob wants him gone...possibly in circumstances that allow him to look the aggrieved party.

Cavani just has something about him that I think Bob wants. I still have a funny feeling for Dzeko. Especially if we get a pacey wide player.

It is strikers according to the rumours

Tevez and Dzeko out

RVP and Cavani in with Cavani being the most coveted by Mancini.

Agreed. But Balo needs to get serious or fook off. Can't act like a kid for another season. That said, I like the guy and think we should give him one more chance

I really hope we DO NOT get Van Persie - certainly not for 30mill which is what The Gunners are saying they will accept.
He's just had his best season, he won't be that good again. And he's injury prone , and he's 29 next season. Hang on to what we've got and give Guidetti a try. If anyone at all, then probably Cavani is the best option of the names mentioned. But more than anything we need a WINGER (or maybe two)

Totally agree regarding RVP. Don't think he will ever be as good as last season again.
And I think he's too expensive considering his age.

I spoke to David Platt in a car park in Alderley Edge a couple of weeks back.
Apologies for not mentioning this sooner. Bad form.

I thought of loads of great questions to ask him once he'd got off. Was a little weird actually. As he walked past and I said; "Eh up Dave, any hints on who we're after in the close season?" or something equally banale and uninspiring, and he just walked off. Then a couple of seconds later, came right up to the van and started having a chat.

He said RVP was a possibility, and actually mentioned a couple of the Bilbao lads. Their exact names currently escape me.
