Samir Nasri convinced he remains part of Manchester City's plans despite reports champions are open to offers
Samir Nasri has held talks with Brian Marwood, Manchester City’s football administration officer, and is certain that he remains a key part of Roberto Mancini’s plans for next season.
L’Equipe, the influential French sports newspaper, had reported that City are prepared to listen to offers for Nasri this summer but the France midfielder is adamant that he will be staying with the Premier League champions.
“I spoke with Brian Marwood and everyone at the club and they want me to stay in Manchester,” he said.
France face Sweden tomorrow in a match that could well decide whether England qualify for the quarter-finals of Euro 2012 as Group D winners or runners-up.
According to Nasri, the key for France during this tournament is to restore pride in the national team following the debacle at the 2010 World Cup.
“In France the image of the national team is really bad, so we've tried for two years to work on that,” he said. “It's now 23 games that we're unbeaten and we're trying to show everybody something different, that we are not just like players with huge egos and big heads.
“We want to show that we are close to everyone and we understand the fans. We want to give them pleasure and we want to do something special.
"Winning it will be difficult. We are trying to build something to be ready for the World Cup in 2014 in Brazil but you never know what can happen in a big tournament. I don't think the fans have forgiven us already but we will do everything to be forgiven.”

QPR Boss Plots Move to Sign Man City Trio In £8m Bargain Raid
QPR boss Mark Hughes is reportedly planning a triple raid on Manchester City for Roque Santa Cruz, Wayne Bridge and Kolo Toure.
It’s understood the Welshman could bring the three players to Loftus Road for less than £8m with owner Tony Fernandes ready to back his manager’s judgement by covering the costs of their lucrative salaries.
Though this trio of talent set Man City back £37m this source believes that QPR could pick them up for just £8m this summer and given growing speculation that the Premier League title holders are looking to dramatically trim their squad ahead of UEFA’s FFP (Financial Fair Play) guidelines, there may well be some mileage to this rumour.
Mark Hughes purchased the trio when he was in charge at the Etihad Stadium and may well feel that all three could add quality to a QPR side that narrowly avoided relegation last term.
Of the three only Kolo Toure appeared in Roberto Mancini’s Premier League first team set-up last term, and even then only briefly. The Ivory Coast centre back has struggled to unseat either Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott in the Man City defence and may well be interested in a return to London where he was of course a huge success at Arsenal.
Roque Santa Cruz struggled to live up to his £17.5m pricetag and had moderate success during a season long loan spell at Real Betis last term. Wayne Bridge reportedly fell out with Mancini following statements the Italian made about the former England international.
The full back has spent time on loan at Sunderland and West Ham in recent seasons and last played a Premier League match for Man City in December 2010.

give him bridge and rsc for 5m ... keep kolo around.

I can't believe he is going to take RSC with him to another prem club. What is this about? He must have had 1 scouting mission about 5 years ago and just never bothered to follow up on the results in that time. Imagine the type of players we'd be bringing in if huges was still in charge of us? What does that say about the scouting work that he has done in all his time since he left blackburn that he is STILL going after RSC? I mean really ... bridge too? he's got the mentality of a total wanker. Of all the criticisms levelled at Hughes, I'd have thought that's the one thing he would get right ... a team of hard workers. totally clueless.

I'd concur with keeping Kolo around too. As for RSC and Bridge - is Hughes trying to recreate the City team circa 2009 over at QPR?

I'd pay QPR to take those cunts RSC and Bridge.

Fun fact, in past four seasons RSC has played 55 games of football scoring 9 goals.

Kolo though....unless we have replacement in mind I wouldn't sell him.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Hughes would be doing us a favour taking those three off our books. I wonder would it be do-able though with their high wages being a stumbling block

"Available" and "for 70m euros" should not be in the same sentence. Not unless we're talking Messi-levels.

Napoli would better sell Cavani now. He isn`t going to become better, he will get frustrated to play at a team that wins only little things, so they will be like Inter with Sneijder.
Beside that, they will get max of 40 mil for him and that bid will be from us.

it's pretty much worth how many ever millions we'd get for his alone to have a second verse there, isn't it?

if money's no object, why not keep a player for a song, and to make lil brother feel good.

Kolo stays. FACT. I've just decided.

cheers

I wouldn't pay more than £35m for him. We got kun for £38m last season and as good a player as Cavani is, he isn't better than kun
