If Italy win and Spain draw, Italy win the group and Spain go through in second place.

What is the Tie-breaking criteria? At this moment the table looks like this :

1. Italy, 5 pt, gd: 3-2
2. Spain 5 pt, gd: 5-1
3. Croatia 5 pt, gd: 4-2

All three of them are/had drawn against each other, so the goal difference will decide it all, if it stays like this, right? Then how is Italy winning the group?

If it stays like this, you don't count the goals scored against Ireland.
A curiosity is that Italy will be knocked out if Spain and Croatia play 2-2, just like they were in 2004 when Denmark and Sweden teamed up in the last game.

With all on 5 points, Italy win by vitue of greater goals versus the other two - Croatia and Spain are identical verus the three of them, but Spain go through in second by having a superior goal difference with the fourth team included.

Only UEFA can make this mess .

For England's sake it would be super to see Spain out. But Big Dave is so good and so likeable that I want them to progress

Basically the decider is head to head on the games involving just the teams that are tying, when that cant separate them (as in Spain and Croatia) goals versus the other team is taken into account.

Thanks Nool & Dameerto for the reply. Well, without the goals they scored with Ireland, Italy has a 2-2, while the other two have 1-1.
What will happend if Croatia and Spain will end the game at 1-1?

Yep, i can hear the commentator saying that Italy had that incident with Sweden and Denmark. How funny was that.

If the Croatia-Spain game ends 1-1, all three team have the same "internal" goal difference, so the results against Ireland will be brought in to the equation.

I've just turned the Italy v Ireland game on and in 2 minutes I've seen the ref give 2 dodgy decisions against Ireland.

And Corluka should've had a penalty the minute before.

It's not a penalty if it's against Spain. It's not offside if it's against Spain. With these rules it's easy to win.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."
