get rid of Young too and let wooney spearhead or wig it alone up front :-)

Parker has been excellent these opening games IMO, much better than Gerrard who now pretty much offers a decent set piece and not a lot else.

Yeah, I particularly liked when he was tied up in a knot by the Ukrainian centre forward, fell over and then proceeded to dive across his path, headbutting him on the knee and handling the ball in the process, in the penalty area. Typical body on the line, never say die type stuff. Good man Scoddy.

Witty. Wasn't his best moment, no, but otherwise he had a really good game, and I hate the cunt!

Sorry, mate, but even though England are miles behind Spain and Germany in terms of technical ability and being able to control possession, we're still fucking miles better than Ireland. Only Given would make England's 23.

Not so sure about Given any more, he had a dreadful tournament, that final game it was painful watching him. I think he's declining rapidly.

No mate i didnt mean it like that, i meant in terms of set up and how you play, its same "plan" trappa used last four years to get us there, its not pretty but can be effective, your players are far superior to ours but the footballl you play isnt, its the same, some like Trappa and Hodgson say its playing to your strengths but i personally dont believe england have to resort to that, they are well capable of getting same results by playing decent football. With the football you played so far with a bit of bad luck you could of ended up with no points like us.

Its a pity English media dont have a pundit like Eamon Dunphy he would of called it out. Hodgson is a tactical genius whileTrappa is a clueless old fool yet they play the same way and have same philosphy at this tournament, funny old game.

Ps although you are miles better than us(apparently) you would of barely scraped by us playing the system you have played so far and you certainly wouldn't of got out of our group.
derby day the scores were level,

We weren't going to get out of our group either. And France were going to take us to the cleaners.

Dunno, but if goal line technology was used, would Ukraine have been celebrating being awarded a goal which was offside because the tecnology would only be used for the goal line, not to judge the offside ?

So we'd all have to watch as a blatantly offside move was declared a goal, even though we could all see it was offside ?

If the rules only allowed for technology to be used on goal-line decisions, they would have to use it & award Ukraine a goal, that shouldn't have been a goal. It's similar in cricket; if the umpire is only a bit wrong, his decision stands on replay, even though it's wrong.

You can guarantee that Platini & Blatter will find the most fucked up, illogical way of implementing this technology & we'll end up with loads of incorrect decisions.

Ignoring the technology discussion for a second, because we all know it's needed and when the dinosaurs running the game figure that out they'll do it completely the wrong way.

England are through, that's what is important. Liverpool were shit in the 2005 Champions League and every single one of them will tell you, play shit if you have to, but getting through is all that matters. Italy were shit in 2006 and won the World Cup, the fact we're still in, the fact we topped the group and gave ourselves the best chance of a semi-final is all that counts. If we go out in the QF then you can all moan(BTW, why are you lot moaning when you have told me for YEARS you don't give a shit about the national team?) but until then, get behind the team if you are going to or shut up if you aren't. I am not getting up at 3am to watch a team just so I can moan about it to you lot.

We can't get behind the team, they're in Poland.

It's one thing being a bit disorganised or not quite as sharp as a Prem team, but top players being unable to control a football, not once twice, three times, but throughout a game, is unacceptable. Whether we rate these blokes or not, we see them every week & we know that those players (with the exception of Walcott) can trap a ball & pass it. We even see Rooney & Wellbeck & Young do that & then actually receive a return pass & do it again! The same blokes put a white shirt on & suddenly trip over their own feet & give the ball away every single time they get it? The excuse used to be that international football is higher standard & the calibre of opposition is higher. Well Olaf fucking Mellberg or those Ukrainian geezers are not higher standard than they face every week nor as well organised as an average Prem/Chump's Lg defence so the fact is, those England players are underperforming & vastly underperforming at that. There is no excuse, team selection, manager, anything; they play together every week.

Qualification isn't an achievement by them it's something which has happened in spite of them & their pathetic showing v Ukraine & thanks to the desperate graft of the defensive unit (not including Young).

The front 3 should fucking sort themselves out & at least reach a level of mediocrity, like the rest oif the team. If they can't even do that, their luck will run out on Sunday & they will not deserve even one ounce of credit from this tournament

Did it also raise the ball? All they were doing was firing over from range.

I some how doubt Ukraine have the same year in year out media circus that England do. A team with nothing to lose has different pressure than one expected to do better than its capable.
