No thanks to Skittles.

AJ hasn't really improved since his move here. You could say it's due to lack of games but I think his heart's not in it. Big fish little pond stndrome perhaps? I wouldn't be too bovvered to see him gone with A.N.Y other decent/promising player to replace him.

I think the skirt is a very good defender. I'd hope the deal doesn't go through as I am an AJ fan, but if it did it would be a decent trade.

Keeping AJ should be a priority. I know some people don't rate him but in a squad of 25 he is streets above any utility/impact player in the league. Kolo, Dzeko, de Jong and Kolarov as well.

AJ has undeniable talent ... I definitely would have a place for him in next seasons 25. Hope that they can work out whatever issues have come up and get the most out of him.

Interesting. Easily Scouse's most consistent player and arguably our least consistent player. Assuming there is a winger to replace AJ, Skirt is a million times a better option than the clown Savic. I'd swap.

Selling AJ should only point the way towards someone better coming in - otherwise I can't see the point as we have no one who offers what AJ does, when AJ can be arsed to do it

I think AJ should quit smoking (don't know if he actually does, but he looks like he's on a pack a day) and hire that martial arts trainer Ireland used that one summer. It would be fabulous to have AJ come back to the club in August totally transformed and super fit.

I agree with you Slim. The reality is that we can't have 25 men of the same quality as Yaya, Aguero, Vinnie, Silva etc. and while AJ may not be the most consistent performer he is in my opinion a very good addition to our squad and he does bring something different to our team. I'd just want to get him to work on his fitness as he always seems knackered after an hour if he starts

Less time quaffing Sambukas in the offseason would probably sort it out.

well, perhaps 40 are a tad much, but definitely not less than 25, particularly from a bunch of tosser who paid 20 mil each for Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing...
always providing that we will either Muniain or Goetze in the other way round, which seems not very probable atm.

I still like AJ tho and I think he will have a major improvement next term if nobody shall come in.

Scored more than Carroll and that other England International combined, what was his name again? Let's call it 55 and it's a deal.

25 mil for AJ LOL. not a chance.

25, I said 55. 25 for each foot, he's got 2 you know.

25 for each foot, I dread to think what the other 5mill is for?

My view of Johnson is that he has to adapt his game and become a striker/midfielder rather than a winger. Much like Robben, hugging the right touchline around half way, he lacks the pace to threaten . But put him in the last third centrally with the goal and passing options either side of him and his skill and shooting power come to the fore. Unfortunately we have three others playing this role so he may have to move. but I'm sure this is how he will end up playing.

This is exactly what I have said several times on here & I think AJ wants to do that but Mancini shouts at him to stay wide. Towards the end of the season though, he was just occasionally letting AJ move around a bit more & also tried him on the left. Imo, when AJ plays in more of a Siva/Nasri role, he looks at least as good, possibly better than Nasri & plays some killer passes. He is also much more likely to score from that position than either Nasri or Silva.

If he's to reach his potential, he has to be released from the shackles imo.

That was Skirtel. Now someone's started a rumour about Agger. Our old friends at talkshite by the looks.

Man City Plan Rumoured Raid For Liverpool Defender
Manchester City are rumoured to be planning a sensational raid on Liverpool for defender Daniel Agger, as the club look to bring in new faces this summer.

According to reports on talkSPORT, the newly-crowned Premier League champions are keen to bolster their backline, and are considering a move for Danish rock Agger, who has two years remaining on his current deal at Anfield.

Any such move would place question marks over the future of England international Joleon Lescott, who has just enjoyed his best season at the Etihad, winning the league title and subsequently being selected to partner John Terry in the heart of England's defence at the European Championships.

Manchester City's rumoured interest will ask questions of Agger's desire to remain at Liverpool, with the 27 year-old recently hinting that the may sit down with the club's bosses to discuss a new long-term deal.

Agger impressed during Euro 2012, as he partnered Simon Kjaer in the heart of the Danish defence, to great effect, especially in the 1-0 victory over the Netherlands.
