OK I'll bite on this one. Why do you think Macini has always had a gripe with Lescott?

Well every other day there is talk of a new cb coming in and with kolo toure , when he returned he got straight back in the side.
He has always quoted on the need of a new cb too.

Kolo was available for all our run in but lescott was first choice and rightly so. Paper talk is exactly that, nothing of substance and no direct quotes.

The only things I've ever heard are positive, especially relating to his training. Mancini obviously had a concern about him in Munich which may have been tactical, but I think the lesson was learnt there.

Last season, Kompany missed 5 games through red cards. Not sure if either missed any due to yellows. That's not an unreasonable rate for centre halves due to the tackles they have to make. Throw in some injuries and you could easily have 10 games a season where one is missing and probably more. I think it's reasonable to therefore want some cover.

Personally, I'd play micah there more and look to bring in another young centre half who can grow into the position over a couple of seasons. However, if Mancini wants experience (and there's no evidence yet that he's even looking for a centre half) then I think he's earned the right to say he knows more than me.

We should absolutely ignore the paper talk but on Kolo, the lad mclaren''s not wrong: Bobbie picked him to start in 6 of the 7 games in March and we lost 2 and drew 2. Wasn't a ringing endorsement either of Bob's faith in Joleon or Kolo's ability. Joleon winning back the slot though IS and should have put paid to it.
truth is we need another CB not a replacement

We do need a replacement, just not for lescott. Savic is not champs league standard. Kolo is ok for a short term replacement. We need a quality CB to push lescott and kompany for a starting berth and also to come in and give the guys a breather when needed. They need to be the type that when that happens we are not sat there waiting for the inevitable screw up.

Yes, surely backup rather than replacement.

On threads a few weeks ago I saw some really destructive (not just negative) comments about Savic. I think that's totally out of order for "one of ours", specially a young guy relatively new to the PL. Give the lad a chance. And if you don't like him, he at least deserves some basic respect. Personally I hope he comes good.

I slagged him pretty badly, when he was being turd. I just couldn't cope with the level of (what I percieved as ineptitude) on display. Almost impossible not to slag off someone when you can see what looks like a title slipping away, and someone at the heart of our formerly mint defence, playing shite and assisting our demise.

If he stays, and is The Don in training or non-first team games, makes Bob notice, comes into the 1st when needed, and performs well at that level, I'll be one of the first to praise him.

What was so destructive about what people said? What did they say? (I honestly didn't see it, Wengerism not intended)

Pfffft, you're having a laugh. Best defence 2 years running, FA Cup, Premier League WINNERS. Whatever anyone thinks of Lescott, this is a team event and the team won.

Back-up, that is all we after.

replace? never ever!
back up. needed to cover any possible spell of misfortune. last season we have been fairly lucky with Cbs, but you cant plan a season aming to challenge for all major prizes and hope that You may play the same 2 CBs for 50/60 games.
still it's a tricky issue because the CB is a delicate role as it's the keeper. I for one would not be very glad to have 3 primadonnas fighting for that 2 shirts.
I am with Dazzler, thinking that Boyatta will show major improvements and come good irrespectively of what we saw of him in last season loan spell. but also agree You cant plan a demanding season on youngster yet to prove himself.

I still am somewhere in the midlle: my dream take is known, I would love to have J Martinez, who would provide top back up for two positions (yaya's and CBs), get enough starts to stay happy while not posing too much upset whithin the dressing room balance of powers.
failing that I would welcome someone like Colocini: solid enough but not in the same league of Joleon.
also if actually available, I'd gladly back Mikhail Chigorin on his stance for Neven Subotic.

just please no bloody f***g Skrotel, tks

2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

We might follow the barcelona model and employ De Jong as centre back! I still scratch my head when I see mascherano playing centre back. Very puzzling.

I wouldn't be surprised if players check out these forums to see what's being said about them. If Savic did he'd be left reeling

Steven Ireland did (on this forum) during the "I'd drive him there myself" debate. As it happens he put in a good shift after that before losing it again, but some twat in a lazyboy does not speak for City Fans, no matter how many times they post

I don't hate Savic, I just think he doesn't deserve to be playing for City at all. If he reads that & fucks off, he'll be doing us & him a favour.

You talk like we are talking about someone giving hard time to some average joe. These people are fucking millionaires and set for life in age when most are just starting to carve out careers for themselves. If they get annoyed at supporters asking more for them (fair or not) then tough shit. Oh, and if I were in their shoes I'd laugh at the peasants complaining and take a blow job from my model wife while petting my pet tiger in my £10m mansion.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Rich people have feelings.

I'm not saying we can't discuss, but some of the comments on herd are pathetic.

Some posters do it just to look hard/build a reputation anyway. I often see comments and think what a wanker followed by I hope the player doesn't lurk on here.
