Liverpool will gain a very good player and I would prefer him to stay with us.

What I cannot understand is how Mancini has not improved him as a player? Don't get me wrong, he's come on loads but only the same way as he's played before. He's great at what he does, cutting in, but he needs to get that right foot going.

Saying that, I seen him cross a beauty in with his right this season. So shocked it's ingrained on my memory.

echoes my sentiments. I still think there's much room for improvement on him and Bob should apply more effort and patience as he doed with Mario.
dunno know enough of his personality to assess if Adam really want it. anyway, as previously exchanged, if he has/wants to surrender to the challenge and get a more comfort zone at scousers moneybag, It must not be for less than what they paid for f***g Henderson/Downing.
we do not need to sell nor to buy greedily anymore, so it's time for City to establish a bargain oriented sales policy, as other top clubs do.

2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

Won't be popular for saying it, and I love Mancini, but there are some who get indulged and others who get sidelined.

Hope the rumour is just that. AJ is a skilled payer who could do a real job for us.

He played a few sweet passes too, one that led to a goal at Wolves in the League Cup comes to mind, but it's plain he's not given all that's required of him. Mancini sometimes makes his mind up about a player and that's that (except when he changes it, as with Tevez!) Maybe if Johnson got himself wed and settled down he'd become the complete player City need him to be.

If true, this is a negative for Bob & the rest of our coaching staff imo.

That doesn't mean that Liverpool or anyone else will succeed where they failed ( football history is littered with talent who underachieved ) but to suggest that Nasri or Mario for example, have a better/more reliable/ personality for the skills of football is, imo, untrue & I would challenge anyone who has ever kicked a football to tell me that AJ's contibution re goals, assists requires any less talent than Sergio, Mario, Silva or anyone. Mentally or physically, yes. but talent wise, no.

To do what Aj did last season requires real talent. Put our A list players in the same position & there's a fair chance they would not have produced the same stuff at the same moment. He has skills they don't.

If we let him go, then I hope it's because we have a replacement, because he is different to most of our usual options.

Spot on ^

Sadly though the game is littered with players like that. Great talent who don't ever reach their potential. Let's hope AJ's different.

Some of his finishes last year were incredible. He really is twice the player technically that he was when we first signed him. With a bit more confidence he could be even better.

Always strikes me how good his finishing actually is.

The difference between a world class player & a talented but underachieving player is purely down to the amount of times they produce it over their careers.

But if you want to embark on that career in the first place, where are you starting from ? David Silva learned all the tricks of the trade at Valencia, where he was able to get used to floating around positions & playing pass & move.

Adam Johnson learned to hang around out wide, from the likes of Steve McClaren & that ilk.

Imo, AJ has at least the same & probably better talent than Silva. The difference is knowing how to use it.

I would seriously be pissed off if we lose AJ but its up to him as Mancini has already said he doesnt want him to leave.
AJ gets a monk on pretty quickly when he doesnt get his own way and he needs to change this mentality if he wants to improve.

Not good enough by a long way. The odd flash of brilliance in 90 minutes is not what we require. Mancini wants players to play 90 minutes and though he's been trying to get this out of AJ for years, the boy just cant do it.

Good deal if true.

Yep I know what's going to happen. He is going to do a few stopovers cut inside and then lescott or kompany are going to

A) put him on his arse or B) block the shot.

Then AJ is going to sulk for the rest of the game. But his diving will fit right in at Liverpool with the rest of them cheating cunts.

Stupid deal if true. There's homegrown player quota we need to fill and I don't see many better English players available. Sure there are better and more hardworking players out there but few of them are English and none of them are wingers.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I dont believe the rumour but if its true i will be very disappointed.

Very underrated player by people on here as has been pointed out has so much potential and offers us something different.

We have other priorities that need shifting on before we move on vital squad members.

has plenty of talent but his workrate seems pretty poor. I would keep him purely on the fact he can change games off the bench when defenders are tired!!

Losing him would be a mistake, scored some vital goals for us and can do the unexpected. Goals versus Newcastle and Sunderland spring to mind. If he wants 1st team football on a regular basis then I can understand that, but it would be more of a loss for us in depth if nothing else.

IF Bob let's this go through, maybe he is thinking about opening up space for the likes of Suarez to come through.

I think this is terrible business and will come back to haunt us.
Johnno is a top member of the squad always looks to be involved in the fun and seems a real top lad not to mention he is a cracking player with a top left foot.

According to Boro fans at work he was part of the drinking culture that saw the likes of Cattermole & Wheater eventually move on - at a club where Gazza turned out & Robson manage that's hardly a surprise

dunno if I'm missing something but we're far better than Adam Johnson. Scored some decent goals yeah, but he also went missing for 90% of the games he played in and didn't really work hard for the team, and we know that's all important for Bob. My problem with Johnson over the last 6 months is he was almost trying too hard to impress. Instead of whipping in a dangerous cross/pass, which he can do, he'd cut in and bang a shot. Frustrating at times. Personally think £17.5mil is a decent amount, reckon we can get £20m though.
