Guidetti is a very highly rated player, quoted in the Italian press the Swede’s agent Roberto De Fanti told cittaceleste.it.
“He is the best under-21 striker in Europe; he played well in a league where champions like (Ruud) Van Nistelrooy and (Marco) Van Basten found their limelight. Why would we wish to see a player like this go? He has scored a high number of goals and although its not the most challenging league in the world it would seem that he has considerable promise.
Could we not put him out on loan in a more taxing league to see if he might become a striker for us? Perhaps someone could explain this while at the same time we still have some dreadful players on the books.Why not sell them off (cheap)? by them I mean RSC, Adebayor,Weiss ,Bridge and possibly Savic etc- we could then take the financial hit and keep promising youngsters giving them a chance to probe themselves one way or the other.

i've heard sunderland, newcastle, and now lazio all linked as a loan destination. i think sunderland would be my favorite - they're desperate for a front man (he would walk into their XI), plus he gets experience in england. seems like a no brainer to me.

i'd prefer Newcastle from that list...they are more likely to take points off a top team than Sunderland. And at Newcastle they are likely to sell Ba which means he can probably link up with Cisse which i think could be a nice combo.

Guidetti definitely looks like he has promise, but Alfonso Alves was once a good player in the Dutch league so we can't read too much into what Guidetti did last season.

We need to loan him out to a Premiership club this coming season to see what he's really made of. I'd love to keep him at City and give him a shot, but the reality is that we are looking to win every competition we enter and we can't really afford to risk giving an unproven player in the Premiership a run in the starting 11. Likewise, Guidetti is now used to playing regular football and will want to keep that up.

A loan move to a Premiership club would the ideal situation for both parties, Newcastle would be a good shout, but any relatively decent footballing side would be fine. If he can prove himself, then we can get him back at the end of the season with a view to making him a regular part of our squad. If it doesn't work out, then neither side has lost out and he can find a club which is more suited to his level.

I think that the general consesus here is for him to be loaned out to another Prem club. He could very well do a Joe Hart and have a stormer of a season at a mid table club, come back a year later and dislodge someone from the team...

A short loan move until January, with a view to it being extended until the end of the season, at Newcastle would be great. That way half way through, if hes not getting games we can move him on elsewhere...and if he is, he can stay and get some more.

He shown his potential in Holland when he was on loan last season, he will never get into our starting eleven ever i can guarentee you that now.
He might get a few games, bang some goals in but then Mancini will go out and buy the Falcao (is that his name) from Porto then he;'s back where he started.
So annoying because this will happen to every single top prospect we have at city with Mancini in charge.

I wouldnt rule out a splell in Serie A: for the shit the Fixed League has become is still very formative for a striker. Tactics and defenses and all that...

Can you give some examples of top class prospects we've had who haven't been given a chance under Mancini? Remembering that we're now a top 4 side, so therefore players who are top prospects must be playing at other CL teams.

What I can say is that Mancini gave Boyata a chance before he was loaned out. Hart was a lot younger than Given, but I think he's now our number one. He's been willing to have players like Razak in the squad and come on. I suspect if we'd stayed in the cup, Razak would still be here rather than on loan. If we did sign 'the Falcao' it would be an unusual signing for Mancini since he's already 27 and he prefers players younger than that apart from central midfield (Yaya and De Rossi)

As for Guidetti, as he's been injured since returning from loan, how many games did you expect him to play? I would have liked to see him loaned to another PL side till January to see how he does in this league, although I'm not sure short loans are allowed anymore.
